I have a masters degree in hospital science. This was aquired in Ireland. Ireland and the rest of the EU have a joined up educated system that is supposed to make our qualifications applicable in each others countries.
I cannot work in germany with my qualification and a german cannot work In ireland with his. This is true for a great many qualifications.
It doesn't matter if they are qualified as rocket scientists in Syria. They will have to begin their educations again, this is after they learn to read and write in german.
They will never be anything but cheap labour.

I'd have to study an additional 4 years and aquire a PhD to be accepted as qualified. My point is that even within the EU qualifications are not transferable.
It won't matter what qualifications these people had in Syria. Anyway if I was an engineer or doctor in Syria surely I'd travel to country that shared my language so that I could begin practicing immediately instead of having to learn a language first.

months ago they already said there are about 600,000 people they can not account for. they dont know who they are or where they are. even upon first "registration" they usually just count them and write down their country of origin (if known..) without further proof, typically without any names, too.
