If I have the right to keep and bear arms, why can't I have one of these? You gun nuts always complain about liberals taking away your assault weapons but nobody complains about not being allowed to buy commercial tanks

Where is the line drawn where freedom ends and safety begins?
>>
I must drive a tank to the grocery store. It's on my bucket list.
>>
>>70203639

You can't own nuclear weaponry either, but the state can.
>>
>>70203639
We do infact have the right, and should be allowed to own them, however i don't have 2 mil to drop on a tank. Do you?

Your cuck thread was about owning a tank. Are you really going to move the goalposts and make it about the main gun now?

Yea I am sure with that mobile junkyard that you can buy can compete with 3rd generation tanks. Even polish panzer divisions would laugh.

Even cucked Britain-Stan lets their slaves own tanks. You just have to put rubber tracks on it if you drive it on paved city streets. Look up tanks for sale on Google and shut the fuck up you leftist retard and get the fuck out of here.

Not being allowed to own a modern tank has nothing to do with safety. These machines are built for a government contract. And these contracts normally stipulate no private/unauthorised foreign sales.
Seriously, just try and get a government issued red dot sight out of the U.S and you'll have the state department balls deep in your ass.

My point is 2nd amendment fags don't realize shit gets outta hand pretty fast when you say "muh guns muh freedom"
>>
Private citizens should be allowed to own tanks. Obviously you shouldn't be allowed to drive it around willy nilly, the same as you can't just carry a rifle wherever you want. There would have to be special laws about where you can drive the tank and fire the gun and whatnot, as well as laws preventing criminals from getting their hands on them.

The whole point of the 2nd Amendment, and with the entire constitution, is to decentralize power. The armed citizenry should be able to BTFO the US armed forces.

You can get tanks in the U.S. With active guns, even in CA. The only problem is not only are tanks expensive as fuck but each shell is about 2 grand and is an ATF explosive device, so each requires a separate tax stamp. If you can get a good price on a surplus one you can run shit over forever though, or take it to the drive they for some good times.

You should be able to own tanks and nukes (even tho there's no proof nukes exist other than faked videos and pictures of Hiroshima and Nagasaki after they were mass firebombed and if you're cognitive dissonance just activated here's one to get it going even more. Nukes obliterate why are the buildings in Nagasaki and Hiroshima which were mostly made out of wood burned and not obliterated? Ground zero in the epicenter it was burned not obliterated. Won't believe nukes are real unless I see a blast with my own eyes in person.

>Some magic death bomb that kills and destroys everything exists

Or

>The US government came up with a fake fear tool like usual to spread propoganda of a magic death bomb which is also used as a waste money tool against enemies as several countries will try to make nukes and fail until they realize it's impossible and just pretend to have then like everyone else

North Korea already figured out nukes are fake.

Imagine the fucking fear in the cold war. The US actually thinks Russia may have finally figured out how to make nukes but when they both figure out it was all a big goof those threats shifted to things that were more realistic.

>Defeats the purpose.

Not entirely. A tank with NBC filtration is pretty much impervious to local police forces. Same goes for citizens...or zombies...in the event of a total breakdown of society.

There was a guy in San Diego who stole a tank in 1995. He shredded everything he hit (except a bridge support). Only reason police were able to stop him is because he got the tank stuck AND he didn't have the hatch locked in a way that would prevent someone from the outside from opening it. So while he was trying to free the tank they opened the hatch and shot him.

Had he been smart he probably could have driven into Mexico before anyone even had a clue what to do.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shawn_Nelson_%28plumber%29

That said, I would rather own a modern, nuclear powered attack submarine. To attack you an enemy would first have to find you. Even if they do locate you, there's a good chance you'll sink their shit first. Properly stocked you could spend years at sea. The ultimate survival tool.

But of course you need the tank to get to the docks.
>>
>>70210880
>Same goes for citizens...or zombies

Arent citizens classified as zombies under martial law initiatives?
>>
>>70211092

Probably. In America we're classified that way for tax purposes.
>>
You can own a fully operational tank and ammo - you need a class 3 DD stamp for the gun and each shell

You can own a nuclear missile - you need an NRC general license for the fissile material and separate class 3 DD stamps for the explosive lenses, the rocket fuel and the rocket assembly

You can buy reactor-grade uranium from any radioactive supply company, and you can buy centrifuges from any industrial plant supplier

So shut the fuck up, enjoy your freedom and go build us a nuke-launching tank.

yeah, just pop down to the hardware store, pick-up some pipe, a hammer, some gunpowder and a pound of weapons grade uranium (they keep it next to the fertilizer). 2 hours in the shed and you done right? you just cant throw it far enough to make it safe to use? the fact that is took the US gov $26 billion and a machine that filled up the largest building on earth at the time and used more power than several states combined makes me question how easy they are to produce.

This applies to anything not just nuclear weapons.

it's relativ easy to make it explode. take 2 parts weaponized atomic matter of your choice and let it collide to create a unstable mass. chain reaction will start and it blows off.
hard part is not to die of radiation before you can make it explode.
>>
>>70213233
so you have access to a ready make uranium enrichment facility? Raw materials? Very precisely shaped charges that are the cornerstone of all implosion style nuclear devices? Do you even have the engineering knowledge to make a simple steel casing for it all to go inside of? How about a degree in nuclear physics so you know which isotope you want? Or are you the kind of third world ass hole who melts down a bunch of smoke detectors, sticks then in a pipe bomb and calls it a day?
>>
>>70203639
>why can't I have one of these?
You can.
There's a lot of legal hoops and paperwork to jump through, and every round of ammunition requires its own certificate which carries a $200 fee each, but it is possible to legally own a fully-operational tank. You just need a lot of money.

with nuclear materials supplied by the los Alamos nuclear facility.
nuclear proliferation is a massive concern to the us gov, Saddam Hussain got put on the US shit list for ordering the wrong kind of pipe because it might have, possibly in a round about way been used for uranium enrichment. A private individual ordering anything that is even remotely related to nuclear weapons will raise red flags everywhere, let alone enough equipment and raw materials to make a bomb. remember Iran and NK have been trying to make them for decades without success.
>>
>>70203639
You dip shit.

You can fucking own an abrams.

Drop like 2.5 mil and it's all yours

>>
The second amendment cannot be interpreted as a complete right to own any type of weapon.

The second amendment was meant to let militias form and be called into service if the need arises. The basic idea being if you let the general populace train with guns, own them, and maintain them, you'll have a better, more effective soldier, and also the militias may be able to react faster than any sort of federal army at the time.

None of those are really a concern at the moment. But the right should still be available. I think the proper guideline is civilians should have access to whatever firearms is/are considered standard issue for each of the three branches. That being said, criminal and mental health checks are constitutional.
>>
>>70213963
Like I said initially: to make a nuclear detonation is relatively (relatively: relatively) easy. The hard part is putting the device together safely and correctly.

Two hemispheres of uranium in a steel pipe launched at each other with TNT would probably trigger an implosion if they were big enough.

To get a yield big enough for it to be worth building is the hard part. Critical geometry is sculpted down to the atom for megaton weapons.

>Saddam Hussain got put on the US shit list for ordering the wrong kind of pipe because it might have, possibly in a round about way been used for uranium enrichment.
Funny joke anon.
Not only were these "aluminum tubes" physically impossible to be used in any nuclear weapons production (and the CIA knew this but their Intel was sidelined because it didn't come to the right conclusions explained in link) but this was pushed in the media by presstitutes like Judith Miller. Also the only "proof" that Saddam was getting uranium was a letter that was immediately proven to be a forgery that was so bad that the forgers signed the name of a prime minister that wasn't in power for over a decade which again the CIA debunking such clear forgery was sidelined because it didn't come to the right conclusions and instead "Intel" from the OSP headed by Douglas feith was pushed to the forefront despite it not only being manipulated "Intel" most of it was outirght forged. Same goes for the "muh Saddam gave Muhammad Atta anthrax" lie. It originated from this same office

Saddam was in the shit list for a very specific other reason.

The context of a statement is important to determining it's meaning. Additionally, reinterpretation is necessary every few decades to revaluate the statement's meaning within current jurisprudence and culture. Finally, the Constitution is more than just it's text. We have 200 years of constitutional scholars on the supreme Court interpreting it as well.
>>

>The context of a statement is important to determining it's meaning
No nigger laws are laws and don't have context.

Even if you read the context in the Federalist papers it is summed up in "citizens rights to bear arms Shall not be infringed." Which is demonstrated by the fact that citizens of the era owned everything from muskets to fully armed and operational warships the world's most powerful weapon of the day.

It's awoooovement as they say and it's only growing. I actually was the same as you as little as last year. But after watching several videos, reviewing NASA footage and such, and just comparing their math to real world stuff it just doesn't add up. For example did you know you can see the statue of liberty from 50 miles away yet if the earth was round it should be thousands of miles below the curvature.

Eh either way I doubt I'll convince you or anyone who is too indoctrinated it'll just come to you in time like it does eventually it did me I hope. It's hard to come go a realization that most of reality is a lie. Cognitive dissonance is one hell of a cork in the human brain.

Imagine my sadness to find out space is likely just a very very very small little bubble above the Earth and aliens don't exist and all that jazz as someone who enjoys Sci fi and studied science their whole life.

I see somebody's never been out on a boat with a telescope before. My dad did this when I was a kid, and it's a fairly inexpensive thing to try for yourself. Studying science your whole life doesn't hold a candle to spending a single afternoon seeing it for yourself.

As features on land start to fade on the horizon, you can clearly see through a telescope that only the top portion of them are visible. This is especially clear with skyscrapers taller than the other ones in the area. You can see the top of the tall skyscraper but absolutely none of the buildings around it. If it was a case of "it's so far that you can't see it, similar to how you can't see a gnat from across a room" then, like the gnat, the entire thing would be visible when zoomed in on.

It's actually about Antarctica and the resources contained therein, there is no space picture enveloping Antarctica that are not computer simulations, there are no actual flights from australia to south america going through pacific, also why you as a private entity are prohibited in dabbling and having expeditions to antarctica, also it's why noone has ever circumnavigated AA in a ship (in a close perimeter).
