Yeah. Reagan was elected because Jimmy Carter basically went on television to say "It's 1979 people, we just need to deal with the fact that we're not a great country anymore. Settle for a smaller house, lower wages, more expensive gas, higher taxes, because the good times are over."

They allowed the monetary system to continue to inflate out of control even though the founding fathers said each generation should pay off its own debts.

While these are all true factors white fuckers have to own up to the fact that they too had a part in it and they're still doing it even today. I dont like how a lot of the post dont acknowledge that being on top and raising children in a safe "fantasy world" have created some naive mother fucker who think the world outside their bubble is good and nice, fucking complete naive to the outside world. What do you think the baby bloomers and hippies where? What do you think hipsters are? Just on an instinctual fucking level it doesn't make sense to say hippies and hipsters are the result of a life of struggle and conflict but it does make sense to say they're a result of loving and coddling family.

White people had a hand in killing the American dream, peace killed the American dream because if there's no conflict you get bored and coddled and on an instinctive biological level women want to fuck a badass who puts himself out there for the tribe because that's her program and a white mans program is to do something different or find conflict or something wrong and "fix it" for pussy. You know what i dont even know if im making any fucking sense

It was naturally a combination of factors, but one common theme is that "localism" was destroyed in favor of a specific type of deracinated, business-friendly pseudo-"nationalism."

Something like the 1965 immigration act (written by pic-related favorite /pol/ villain Rep. Emanuel Celler of New York) wasn't simply foisted on an unwilling population. What happened during the 40 years since the restrictive 1924 act severely curtailed immigration?

Well, there was the Great Depression and then World War II, both of which were critical in nationalizing a lot of functions that used to be local.

During the depression, local governments were unable to provide stability for their own citizens, which gave the feds room to intervene. Earlier "panics" and recessions didn't involve a potential communist revolution (remember that the anarchist era had barely ended by the late-20's), one of the federal government's major fears.

WWII took many of the structures developed during the depression and formalized them. The US became a top-down federalized state.

After the war, the leaders at the top embraced a very cynical form of self-enriching corporatism, which was posed as "capitalism," and opposing it was seen as a sort of treason.

This allowed national and multinational firms to undermine local financial and market structures, and turn them into a bland and standardized coast-to-coast corporate pastiche without "parochial" concerns.

i think the problem now is that we are in rekindled conflict with eastern civilization thank primarily to OBL.

the bubble lifestyle was ideal and we thought in 2000 that we could gradually grow it with a healthy balance of sheltered and red pilled Americans and help the rest of the world come up to our standards and lower global tensions by being strong, but everything after 9/11 just got so fucking maddening thanks to left wing and GOP establishment politics that we are stuck where we are today. Oh , and not to mention cuckservatvies being in denial about the world changing and then being too weak to do anything about it, THEY created the damn bubble

meanwhile conservative eastern civ has been left behind for so long, and thanks to technology our coddled civilization created, we have enabled them to continue being backwards and threaten us

No there was nothing necessary about civil rights, and the only way they "exist better" is off the money & sweat & blood of whites.
In the form of trillions of dollars in handouts

Whole cities were destroyed, tens of thousands have been murdered, millions raped/robbed/assaulted

Nowadays everything is about blacks, have to tip toe around blacks, never offend the blacks, etc

Moral relativism is the big one I think. It only leads to decline. A person cannot do good if he doesn't believe in goodness, since it doesn't exist in his mind as anything real.

The american dream is a product made by the jews in the 1930s and brought to reality around 1948 to trick the average man into fighting for a wage and living a painted house lifestyle like every one else. To conform to planned obsolescence, materialism and hedonism. To be alright with some resources not being expendable.
There is no american dream because everyone fights for it - nobody really wins except the people who created the idea. CONSUME. OBEY. TRUST EVERYTHING YOUR GOVERNMENT TELLS YOU
>>
>>70187014
I'd say institutionalized education matters more than anything else
You teach the people to self-censor themselves & their group
Teach them that "racism" is unacceptable, then they'll go out of their way to punish racists.

Then they get a job, have to only follow liberal behavior rules or else they'll get fired

It's political correctness
>>
>>70186913
The effects of this process weren't immediately apparent. Some seemed downright beneficent. The demise of localism was accompanied by a vast boom in consumer-level products at middle-class prices, from televisions to refrigerators to cars to plastics to dishwashers, ad infinitum.

In a localist system, you have no choice but to deal with individuals, since they are the ones who inhabit your locality. In a national corporatized system, individuals are interchangeable, and the goal is to increase profit at the national level.

On the corporate side, this involved the promotion of mass-immigration. But this could not be "marketed" directly to voters, because unions were opposed, and it seemed like a selfish ploy.

This is where the useful idiots of the corporations become important - the proto-SJWs of the 1960's whose primary concerns revolved around race and the doctrine of "anti-racism."

Corporations did not really care about race as such; they just wanted more customers and cheaper laborers. But the agitators cared a lot.

The postwar prosperity also allowed the myth of "American exceptionalism" to flourish. When welded to anti-racism, the idea becomes that "American values" are universal, and that any groups from anywhere in the world can "embrace" them and become "real" Americans, just like the founding stock population.

This dogma was the end result of the demise of localism.

Now, as we enter the third generation of this system, we are increasingly hobbled by the decline it has imposed upon us, making it all the more difficult to return to any sort of national sanity.
>>
>>70187079
It feels like the racial climate is more intense than ever before. Even like 5-10 years ago the racial climate didn't feel this intense.

Is it because social media is so popular now? I think in 2006 most "social media" was still done anonymously in forums and everyone's daily dramas and "discriminations" didn't become breaking news the next day.

communism latched onto minorities and post colonialism throughout the world, creating refugees that fled warfare and settled in the West bringing their left wing ideas and radicalizing African Americans to joint Black Power movements , this including the Nation of Islam back in the 20s

although the Russian/German Italian communist/ anarchist immigrants are certainly to blame for stirring shit up in the US

but the textbooks tell us McCarthy was a bully and that there was no communist/ anarchist subversive organization and violence..

also, the mafia controlled the Unions, and the mafia wen tin hand with the democrat political machines in the cities, teamsters, dock workers, railroad workers, which also employed minorities because it was only on generation after the end of the Civil War

Actually, easy access to information is what killed the American dream for it never truly died in the first place.

If by american dream you mean becoming rich and living the good life then you must realize that "rich" and "poor" is just a matter of perspective. To become rich, the easiest path is to impoverish those around you. That way you can look richer in comparison. Some people made that happen on a national scale and now they are living the american dream while all of you guys fell victim to their scheme.

Racism, both institutional and personal. Definition of the American Dream:

"The American Dream is a national ethos of the United States, the set of ideals (Democracy, Rights, Liberty, Opportunity, and Equality) in which freedom includes the opportunity for prosperity and success, and an upward social mobility for the family and children, achieved through hard work in a society with few barriers. In the definition of the American Dream by James Truslow Adams in 1931, "life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability or achievement" regardless of social class or circumstances of birth."

Notice that there is no qualification based on race. In fact, the American Dream is the idea that "circumstances of birth" (like one's race) shouldn't have an impact upon one's upward mobility, only their merit and ability. And yet, institutional barriers have always existed in the USA since its very birth, with many (but not all) of those barriers being racial. Therefore, the American Dream was never born in the first place, since it's never actually been a reality.

So thanks, stormcucks, for making sure we stay a barbaric, hopeless shithole mired in your superstitions and autism.

The towns don't have to be small, but it has more to do with institutions that are anchored in the regions and places they serve.

So for example, a "local" bank was actually a local bank. It might have a handful of branches in nearby towns, but that would be it.

Banking is one example of an industry that has become super-consolidated since WWII, even though modern technology would actually make it easier than before for local banks to flourish. Interbank stuff is mostly digital and immediate now.

But that doesn't happen, since our system is designed to stomp out most forms of localism. Localism leads to local quirks and local values, not all of which are friendly to mass-market modern consumerism.
>>

This. Having a meritocracy sounds great and all, but most people in power just use their influence to rig the system to benefit themselves and their friends and/or people they like. Crafting a meritocracy would threaten the positions of themselves, their associates, and the people they like. Gaining and holding a position of note would become hard and a constant struggle. You'd be fighting the same battle every day. While such competition makes people better and creates a net benefit for the society as a whole, it becomes extremely draining and stressful for the individual, so they have an interest in making it so that they just have to fight the battle as few times as possible. They have an interest in the security of their position, so they use their position itself to limit who else can challenge them for that position.

Niggers and 'minorities'

Anytime a 'disenfranchised' group is granted 'equality' we all move down.

No one ever moves up. Government does not create opportunity. It creates liability and dependence.

Did you know that one of the decades of lowest income inequality was the 1950's? True.

Big middle class. Wealth stays at the level of production. A bloated middle class is a key ingredient for economic prosperity. Do not believe the lies from the right who wants to send the wealth up and the left who wants to send the wealth down. Fight for the middle class and people will reclass themselves naturally. And then, when you have a big middle class, you can reorganize your system into a horizontal (as opposed to vertical) class system. Horizontal classes are no longer classes but syndicates. This is the model Mussolini was striving towards. He called them corporations instead of syndicates.

Fascism works. People are just afraid of the F word, so they'll vote for people who make lots of money moving wealth up and down. Never letting it aggregate in the middle.

During his presidency, FDR's policies helped the US but ever since we have been riding the Keynes train it has gone downhill.

Blogpost incoming.

First we have to figure out what the American Dream was before we can find its corpse and perform a proper autopsy. We have to ask what made the dream American as opposed to the Canadian Dream or the Salvadorian Dream.

Here's what I am going to propose ... the American Dream was wave after wave of failures showing up on these shores after gruesome fuckups in other countries and the only thing they wanted was a CHANCE to have prosperity. The American Dream wasn't prosperity, a chicken in every pot or the corner office, it was the ability to have a SHOT at it ... and here comes the important part ... after fucking up.

It's why wave after wave of settlers went West after screwing up in the East. It's about rebounding from disaster. So in a way, sure, it's class mobility, but it's a peculiar catch -- the idea that no matter how badly you screw up, you can still start at zero.

The American Dream is getting out of prison and calling your debt to society paid. It's bankruptcy and starting over in another town with a small loan from your brother. It's being guaranteed a seat at the craps table even if you have whip marks on your back and only a dollar to your name. If you had the gumption, you could give it another try.

What fucked this up?

Eternal credit reports. Blacklists. "I hope you know that this will go down on your permanent record." Debts you cannot discharge in bankruptcy. Ex-felon disenfranchisement. Landlord blacklists. Computer databases. Sex offender registries for life. McCarthyism.

Each and every one of these says "You, you fucked up. No more chances for you. You're a permanent serf." It means you get one shot, and that's only if you're already someone who can afford to take shots.

Even Bill Gates was a senator's son. People like you and me, our student debts can follow us to the fucking grave. We piss in an alley and we can't live closer than half a mile from any school or park for the rest of our lives.

9/11 happened

East vs West, we thought it was yogin to be peaceful and gradual progress and merging after the berlin wall fell, but then I THINK our DARK and POSSIBLY WELL INTENTIONED DEEDS FROM THE COLD WAR GOT LOST AND TAKEN OVER

and then came back to haunt us in the form of Alquaeda….

and we had weak leadership and weak culture….

A few different things. I couldn't really say what is most guilty, but I think when this country reached a certain point, various groups decided they wanted more than their fair share of something (baby boomers, corporations, jews, niggers), or they just hated the success of a prosperous, free nation (foreign interests, leftists, jews, niggers) so they got together and decided to pick it apart.

>>70186852
The silent generation is guilty of handing the boomers a system that allowed them to mortgage their kids' future for personal gain. That's pretty much the extent of their guilt. The boomers in the US were handed one of the best deals in human history, but made sure it was gone for anyone else. For them entering the workforce, things were cheap, wages were high, college was unnecessary for a big majority of good jobs and a good life was much in easier reach. The minimum wage in the 1970s was around $2.00 (adjusted for inflation, pretty close to an amount that generation now claims would surely ruin the economy), college, if you even needed it, was in the lower hundreds, and housing, being something you lived in and not kept as an investment property, was very cheap.

The minute they started taking power, they started reversing all that. You can't do anything any more without taking on amounts of debt you may never pay off. They open the floodgates from Mexico to depress blue collar wages and are trying to get more people from India to depress white collar, mostly tech, salaries. They use the once great education system they destroyed as an excuse for getting those cheaper skilled workers from India, even though Pajeet got his degree from a diploma mill. Thanks to "investment properties", housing prices go through the roof with those third world workers depressing your wages doing their part by making cheap housing scarce and dangerous (assuming you don't already live near blacks).
