I used to work in a movie theater when I was younger. We did those donation things, I never gave a fuck if anyone put a quarter or dollar in there but I have been caught off guard when a bleeding heart comes up and deposited $10 or $20 bills in the container. Many charitable organizations lose 90% of the money donated to supporting their own employees and not the cause for which you are donating. You are often better off buying products from regular corporations that do that "for every dollar spent we will..." bullshit, because at least you know they will make sure it happens for the tax right-off because they will be under strict scrutiny.
