Because you don't have a right to any of these
Those are all gibmedats

Because it isn't the government's job to provide those things. It's only supposed to provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and prosperity.

This is fundamentally racist and xenophobic. It should say "everyone" instead of "every American" so that every person within the constructes borders of the USA recieves these fundamental rights. Unless you're a white cishet make of course.

Education should basically be one, as part of the idea that we all start off equal, otherwise you get a more entrenched sort of cast system--which happens anyway, but without equal opportunities things are worse and people are held back only because they were born poor.

Okay. You scrub rust out of active sewage pipes.

Nope, you said a job. I just gave you one. Whats next?
>An adequate wage and decent living.
Alright. Minimum wage is 7.25 an hour. You can live in section 8 federally subsidized housing.
>No, what I meant was
Are you homeless? Rent is so low you can afford food in Sec 8. Unless you dont wanna live there because it's a ghetto. But I know you aren't racist so, I'm sure it's fine. Next.
>A decent home
Yup, gave that to you already. Maybe next time you should pick more specific adjectives other than decent and adequate. Because it seems like you just picked them vaguely so you could demand nice stuff. But Im sure thats not the case.
>Medical care
It's called medicaid. You're already on it
>Economic protection during sickness, accident, old age, or uneployment.
Medicare, workmans comp, social security, unemployment benefits. Already have all of them, available to any citizen...that qualifys.
>A good education.
It's the law you go to highschool. Oh, you were talking about college? That's too bad. Because thats secondary education. Primary education is guaranteed. But you WANT to go to college? Sure. Here's some student loans, federally subsidized. Oh, but you dont want to pay those back? Then I guess you didnt need to go to college did you?

We already have those rights. No one is stopping a person from going out and getting everything on that list. Lazy fuckwads think the government should just buy it for them.
>>
>>70165868
Imagine this scenario:
You're in a socialist country, the government has run out of money.
You have the right to food and healthcare.
The government has no money, they can't pay for the food or healthcare.
Do you think the people selling the food or providing the healthcare should supply them for free?
To not supply them for free would be infringing on the persons right to food/healthcare. To forceably supply it for free would infringe on the suppliers right to not be a slave.

None of those things are rights. For instance, you have a right to your LIFE so if someone kills you, they violated your rights and deserve punishment.

If you have a right to a job, does that imply people who deny you a job go to jail?

Also it keeps saying "decent" and that's subjective as fuck. What is decent, what is a "decent home"? A mobile trailer? A mansion?

It's basically over complicating the matter too. I believe in what I call the Five Rights of Man. Life, Liberty, Property, Body, and The Pursuit of Happiness. A job and a home are just extensions of the right to property, you have a right to have property and pursue happiness using your own property, but not to have someone else GIVE you the property just because it's property. The Five Rights work because they exist regardless of whatever level of civilization you have. A right to a house implies you're living in an economic era that can easily build and provide a house. What if it's some kind of post apocalyptic situation or you're in the middle of a desert? Does no one being around to make you a house violate your rights?
>>
>>70165207
And where are these jobs coming from anon? Who is paying for it?

If the wage is good, why bother getting more than basic education? If you can make 50k a year with a high school degree, why get a bachelor's?

What's a "good" education? America pays a LOT for it already. Same with health care.
>>

>>
>>70168025

I would also like to add on what's the limit for these "rights". The 1st amendment has a clear stopping point when you use speech to threaten others and put their right to life at jeopardy.

But what about a "right" to a decent house? If I have 10 kids do I get a free mansion? Surely a big 4 bedroom is still not decent enough for 12 people.

Can an employer not fire me or refuse to hire me if I have a right to a job?

Basically they operate at a loss because the return on the goods they sell is better than if they shut down completely.

If you close a factory you still have to:
Pay rent, land taxes as necessary, business insurance as necessary, upkeep, security, etc.

If you keep producing, you may operate at a loss, it the returns are enough to keep you going for a little while.

Imagine you have living expenses of $100 per week, and you have a job that pays you $100 a week. Now your job tells you that you are being let go. For medical reasons you CANNOT drop your costs below $100, so you cannot tighten your belt any more.

So you have two options- be unemployed and see your savings drop $100 per week, OR you can take a job down the street at Lowes that pays $80 per week. So even though you are still "losing money", you are losing savings at a rate of $20 per week rather than $100.

That's a simplified analogy, but that's basically what happens. You just work at a loss until the market picks up again.
>>
That is basically communism. Its nothing new and you arent original. People were spouting your bullshit 100+ years ago
>>
>>70165748
Thats such bullshit. If your a skilled worker you have just as much opportunity as someone who went to college for that skill.
This is the land of the free not the land of the equal.
>>
>>70168874

no, you don't even begin to fathom.

you have not even fucking begun to fathom.

corporation buys a factory SOLELY TO DEPRECIATE ITS VALUE.

we're not talking, "oh, it's just not making money" or, "oh, it's loss will allow it to coast for several years at less than the cost to tear it down".

i mean literal intentional running it into the ground in order to negate taxes on the profitable factory across town. which was built with taxpayer money on a 2 year contract to 'make jobs and drive industry'. and when that contract is over, another factory is built, the previous sacrificial factory is sold to someone who will continue to depreciate it for 7 years, and the factory the taxpayers paid for 2 years ago becomes the sacrificial factory to depreciate in value.

you don't understand. you're too innocent. i too thought maybe that there was a non clinically-mentally-retarded justification or reasoning behind it.

i didn't know why they didn't want places to improve efficiency and actually profit. all i wanted was to see my warehouse and factory work like a well oiled machine, with happy employees and fat profits. and then i saw the horrifying truth.

the horrifying truth is that corporations aren't even trying to make money.

>>

>>
>>70169938

no! no! keeping it running at a loss until business picks up makes perfect sense!

but what's going on is... pure fucking kafka. and its frighteningly prevalent. i don't understand. i mean, i get the gist of what's going on but i still don't understand.

it has come to pass that making money isn't profitable. i manage a warehouse attached to a factory. we make a certain generic and common product.

we are given explicit orders to make product we *know* that we will simply have to destroy.

we were forced to use a temp agency for staffing. now, we need basic physical laborers to keep this thing running. the temp agency won't take anyone with a criminal record, and makes people pass a drug test - for a 10$ an hour manual labor job not even involved forklifts. who the fuck else is going to do it? in the past, the tatted up middle aged burnouts were who we mainly hired, and they did a good job. they knew what it meant to have to work, and they knew that it was their lot in life, and a lot of them knew they'd go back to prison if they lost their jobs. so they did their jobs. and i was happy to employ them, they needed work, i had some shitty work to do, it kept them out of trouble, and i don't give a shit how high they get on their own time as long as they show up.

this temp agency can't provide us with enough people, since their office is about a city away, they CHARGE people, and they mostly send us complete idiots and weaklings. you know, most guys in prison can figure out how to stack boxes and do work. these kids can't.

so we attempted to circumvent this by hiring by word of mouth and sending the individuals to the temp agency and requesting them specifically. which is retarded. we paid the agency 13 dollars an hour for 10 dollar hour laborers. and for a while we had people.

word got out and they shut it down with a vague letter about how "it promotes favoritism" and so forth.

Because those are retarded rights. Trying to give everyone those things (except for maybe 4, 5, and 6) would destroy the country.

1. a job. So what if you're late every day, curse at your boss, bully your coworkers, and produce a shitty product?
2. An adequate wage and decent living. What is "an adequate wage"? What about the tens of millions of Americans who really are just lazy fucks? Do they, too, deserve "an adequate wage?" What does "decent living" mean? With a minimum wage job, in most places in America you can afford a place to live, a cheap car, groceries, and a few luxury items as well.

THE REASON PEOPLE ARE POOR IS BECAUSE THEY SPEND MORE MONEY THAN THEY MAKE.

3. a decent home? Who pays for it? Why would I work harder to afford a nicer home if I can have a perfectly fine one without working? Does my right to a job mean that I have to have a job to have the home?
>>
>>70172417

so now our labor pool is broken, and held hostage by some stupid fat HR cunts at a retarded half assed temp agency.

i've suggested repeatedly that we automate. the amortized costs of a automated conveyor line that uses pneumatics and machine vision such as we use in the production floor would be about 3 dollars per hour per manhour that we are now paying 13 for, and much more. i've looked into the firms that set these things up and the investment is reasonable - this plant has been running for 89th year and it would pay for itself by the 100th.

"but that would cost 22 people their 10 dollar an hour jobs and we'd lose tax credits". nevermind that it'd create four 30$ an hour maint jobs, and that's four people making GOOD money doing smart work that improves productivity and that we're not running out of shitty jobs that don't even need to be done.

nevermind that we'd actually maybe be MAKING MONEY if we got our shit together and modernized, never mind that we could provide a superior product and we are READY to move up and start being efficient and productive. that's simply not the goal here.

and the higher ups appear once a month and sigh at me and say i don't see the bigger picture. "it wouldn't be as profitable as you think it would be".

motherfucker, i know how to make our product, and i know how to do it for less, how to do it better, and how to secure clients.

did you know it fucking kills me to not be allowed to do a good job?

it's... all fucking insane. the world has gone mad. people don't get it. its too crazy to get it. i don't really trust anyone that DOES get it, because a good, decent person is almost constitutionally incapable of understanding what is going on. it boggles a healthy mind.

you know, we have almost a perfect safety record back here. a single serious injury in 20 years, in a cramped environment with people operating forklifts that weigh as much as 3 cars around people. why?
>>
>>70165207
1 I want the right to not employ bad workers
2 I want the right to not build some one elses house without money.
3 I want the right to not pay for other peoples lip section and sex change operations.
4 I want the right to not pay for old people too stupid to save their money in case of emergency.
5 I want the right to not pay for poor peoples indoctrination.
>>
>>70173451
Either your crazy rambling is confusing or I'm too tired for this shit, but are you saying you're forced to have employees work doing essentially worthless tasks in order to get tax breaks?
>>
>>70173451

why?

because i make sure people keep their work areas uncluttered, and i make sure that things are set up to facilitate safe operations, and because i don't give someone permission to touch a piece of equipment until i'm sure they understand how to operate it safely.

however, this situation is apparently not 'inspiring enough'. so we get assigned some absurdly fat fuck idiot as our safety manager. what does he do? he gives condescending meetings about how to lfit properly to my guys that have lifted more than he would in his entire life in a single week. he gave us these cards to fill out, OIR cards. you're supposed to fill one out when you see someone doing something dangerous. he requires one card a week from every employee, so we all just have to make some bullshit up. this is what he calls progress. it's a joke. he read us a fucking poem about how someone died at work because no one stopped him from being retarded. one black dude pipes up, "heeeeell naw, i'mma let john die. i ain't going to get in a argument with a grown ass man, y'hear, a GROWN! ASS! MAN! about some shit that he knows. what if he gets surly with me, and we get in a fight, and i get fired? what am i gonna tell my wife? shit, if someone gets themselves killed, i'm gonna clean them off the floor and get back to work!" he was mortified and spent two weeks telling me how we had a 'suicidal work ethic' here. i wanted to punch him. his job is fucking welfare. we had a perfect safety record BEFORE OSHA thugs started doing retarded shit.

now, i get that workplace injury lawsuits are huge things, and we need to protect ourselves. so we have cameras, and i'm stern with people doing retarded shit. but that's not what this is.

>>70174180

yes. we are told to make something, and then throw it away. because corporate law makes that profitable. or something.

how is our economy NOT going to be fucked when millions of people are being paid to be counter-productive?
>>
>>70165207

>>
>>70165207
Let's say I do a shitty job at work, like I just sit around all day drinking soda and not working. Can they fire me? Wouldn't that interfear with my right for a job?

If my job can be taken away it's not a right is it?

Furthermore it has to be a job with good pay according to my 2nd right.

And if I spend all my money on fancy restaurants I still need to be given a decent home, medical care, for free because of right 3&4.

I also refuse to balance my budget and when the hard times comes I will get bailed for free with right 5.

I do not need right 6 because even if I cannot read or write I am still entitled to a good paying job.

So gimme my FREE SHIT, it's my right!

>>70175892

you poor, innocent fool, you may not understand but i love you for not understanding.

you see, paying people to pick boxes up and walk in circles would be A. too obvious and B. not wasteful.

like a normal person, you assume that waste of time and resources is not to be desired. this is, according to my masters, false. it IS to be desired.

if i were to prevent this waste of time, energy, product, resources, and capital, i would be fired. i am paid to pretend to manage people pretending to work at making things (but actually they are non-pretendingly making things in order to just unmake them.)

it wasn't always like this. at one time i took pride in a day of work, and progress and improvement; i would spend personal time thinking about how i could better implement practices that would make my teams lives better and increase our efficiency. i wanted to do a good job. why? because its satisfying, because that's how you should earn a living, because it's right, because i enjoyed it.

now i just try to prevent the slaves i am in charge of from existing in a living hell during the day, and drink at night.

sometimes i just want to secretly hire a wrecking crew to arrive on friday night and demolish the entire fucking factory into rubble over the weekend, schedule the dock workers off, make sure the plant manager is on vacation, and just laugh as they put handcuffs on me and laugh as they convict me and laugh as i'm in jail contemplating all the good work i could have done in terms of just making and distributing things for people. that was supposed to be my job, right? ensure that the process of making things for people at a good price went smoothly?

most jobs in existence today have no need to be done, and we'd literally be better off if we just paid people to do nothing.

i'm a capitalist, a libertarian, a right winger, an objectivist for chists sake, i believe in the freedom to succeed or fail based on your merit and your results alone. but i've begun to support basic income and eugenics.

because we're paying people to do retarded, miserable jobs that don't need to be done. i'd rather just give them the money and let them go get drunk all day, or actually improve themselves. whatever. i don't fucking care. why are we just making jobs for people?

i can totally see how if corporations wanted to do things right, they could make enough money to just voluntarily pay for basic income and not even fucking care. literally no skin off their back. chump change. instead 150 million lives in this country are wasted doing miserable jobs that don't need to be done. lets just fucking give them the god damned money, replace them with robots, and sterilize them until we don't have more people than we need.

All of these rights are protected except maybe one could argue
1)
Isn't well protected for ex-cons (but they lose other rights anyway)

There are no laws in place that prevent you from having any of these things.

Consider the second amendment;
You have a right to bare arms.

Doesn't mean the government or anyone is obligated to give you one. Just that no one can infringe on your right to bare arms.

You have a right to free speech, but no one is obligated to give you a radio tower.

There is no law I know of that:
Prevent you from getting a job
Prevent you from being paid an adequate wage (you get paid what you agreed to work for and if that is too low, you are free to pursue other means, including, but not limited to, starting your own business)

3. I'm not sure this can be right, maybe rephrased as every american has the right to land on which to live (since the government seized the land from the people in the fist place, this one I'm not sold on though).

Everyone has the right to medical care, no one is denied medical care, but people also are autonomous and cannot be obligated to care for you for free. There is no restriction by law which says that you cannot get medical care.

I don't really need to continue, all of these rights already exist. If you care to explain how they don't (without appealing to people being unabke to afford them, that is unrelated to your right, in the same way that the bill of rights cannot protect you being unable to buy xyz that you legally can own by law) then feel free and I'll consider it

most jobs, as in over 3/4ths of all jobs, are shitty jobs for poor people.

trust that if you are making less then 15 bucks an hour, you can be replaced by a machine.

and it'd be cheaper.

and then that person could go fuck off and enjoy themselves instead of hating life doing a meaningless job.

What are you on, and where can I get some?
>>

Because they support open borders and endless population growth.

The Second Bill of rights was formulated for a slowly expanding white majority country.

i'm on the fucking management team a crummy factory and if you want to 'get some', bring your own gun and ammo and we'll head to the nearest concentration of bean counters, government employee's and corporate bureaucrats. then we'll fucking get some. and we'll be 'on' something else too, i'm thinking a list of some sort.

Because he wants in on the "Americans" are stupid train.

So why are employers intentionally wasting money? Why hasn't a competitor undercut them by replacing all their workers with cheap machines?
>>

If you have 10 kids, you'd get 11 houses, duh.

government pays you to build factory A.

factory A makes money.

factory B is drove into the fucking ground with no survivors and depreciates in value.

insert tax magic.

ta-da, profit.

now, factory A becomes factory B, and you repeat the cannibalistic process.

net result is somehow they're rich, but have only destroyed shit and squandered potential.

and if i understand correctly, corporate law states that the executive officers will go to jail if they don't do this.

the only winner is the federal reserve, who makes money at every step of this nightmare process, since every transaction incurs increasing federal debt.

All the problems in the world can be explained by a single quote.

None of those things are rights. They are entitlements.

A right is something you inherently have without intervention. An entitlement is something that someone else is expected to give you.

It would be funny if it wasn't so sad

FDR actually pushed for all of this.

And I thought what he got done was super damaging.

I'm going to guess that you're on meth.
