What is /pol/'s thought on this guy? He seems like a very intelligent man.
>>
Watched the Model 3 reveal (/o/ reporting). He's make a great Bond villain except for the fucking stuttering.
>>

He's based as fuck. /pol/ hates him though for having liberal views.

He had the sense of humor to appear in Machete Kills with Mel Gibson.
>>

People were worried about Google taking over the planet once upon a time but i'm more concerned about this guy's endgame

he doesn't have liberal views.

Even on wikipedia it says he is nationalistic.

IMHO, he is based but his wife is going to make him a nobody soon.
>>
Master of PR. Probably a narcissistic asshole as well. He's alright.
>>
Beta cuck. Got fucked over in divorce by the same woman twice.

Why the fuck did I have to solve 10 captchas.
>>
Every company he owns leaves a snail trail of shady shit.

He also expects me to drive a car that would have a large lithium ion battery in the front. That means any front end collision will end in the battery tearing open and the entire car catching fire every time.

>>
>>70130534
He's a scam artist at worst and a deceptive fuck at best. His companies are definitely an elaborate ploy he uses to get in bed with the government so that he can eventually control the infrastructure for renewable energy.

Liberals are idiots and know nothing about business, so they view him as a paragon. I don't particularly care for him. Tesla is mostly smoke and mirrors. If the model 3 isn't a piece of shit, his company will go somewhere. If not, it's over. Solar City and SpaceX are already dogshit companies.

How the flying fuck could you be so wrong? Tesla batteries are not in the front, the are in the bottom between the wheels.

The model S has the highest safety rating of any car you can buy. It's insanely safe in accidents. People have driven them into concrete walls at high speed and walked out fine. They have much larger crumple zones that normal cars and are incredibly fire safe.
>>
>>70131033
The battery is underneath the car and there are theres an extra trunk at the front. Tesla has had the highest safety raings of any car ever.

I never heard much about it. But I imagine feminists must hate must. He's unashamedly masculine. Women complained about the model S not being comfortable for most women drivers, to which he admitted they didn't fully think about that. He tried to name the tesla "model" cars S, X, E and Y as an anagram for SEXY. Tweeted "It's time to unveil the D". And generally sounds like a dude.

Not heard any shit directed at him yet though.

Prole's last words.

This man has ZERO knowledge when it comes to women. If he were a self-made man instead of growing wealthy from handouts, then he would be banging random girlfriends every day while being married to a woman specifically chosen for facilitating the upper-0.00001% lifestyle.

America put its tech progress investments into Elon Musk, then Elon Musk put them into the American marriage&divorce system. We're not getting any closer to the rest of the universe while cucks are in charge.
>>

The unfortunate position of being both red and green pilled is that the only people who care about the dangers of mass immigration happen to be the people who care least about climate change. That's why I refuse to vote UKIP, they think climate change is a scam, and I can hardly vote Green or Labour since although they care about climate change their stance on immigration is suicidal. Conservatives manage to be lukewarm about both issues but then do little to resolve either crisis.

His capital and labor are both provided by government. His sales aren't 1% of his spending; it's just a giant experiment with other people's money while he strikes the same "pretend to be confident" pose every single time he is photographed.

The only thing I'm mad about is how easily people are fooled. This is not the private sector; this is government masquerading as private sector and a sideways crawl masquerading as progress.

They tend to care least about climate change because it's a global issue, so individual action or action for 300 million people doesn't mean shit when China with 1.6 billion people have no intention of imposing any regulation on their coal power stations.

We need an ozone-hole style clear and present danger before governments take action - otherwise it's a case of "it's not affecting me, why should I pay to change what I'm doing?".

Elon's basically got the commercial LEO/GEO launch vehicle industry stitched up if Spacex can actually manage to get reliable 1st-stage rocket return to work. Their costs are already half their competitors' but their new-on-the-scene image doesn't help them win contracts from existing satellite companies. Nailing NASA commercial resupply and crew contracts will guarantee private contracts.

Tesla is a bit of a meme machine but the cars don't have the trappings of a large complicated combustion engine. The motor has a single moving part. The single biggest item cost is the battery - with the gigafactory online the cost of this will halve.
>>
>>70132472
>His capital and labor are both provided by government.
Neither are.

Tesla is 100% private, no government money. Fully supported by it's own revenue and private investors.

SpaceX is also completely private afaik, but work closely with NASA. They get money from NASA in the form of contracts that they competed for and won.

>why do liberals hate space?

They do not possess any kind of motivation to work against space research, in and of itself. Rather, they will steal EVERY resource for the sake of fueling western civilization's enemies. That means no space, no defense, no borders, no infrastructure; schools will exist but only as forced indoctrination camps to make people accept hostile invasions without any form of resistance.

>Tax cuts for car sales are "subsidies"
That tax cut also existed before Tesla was founded. Anyone can making a green car can get it. Tesla are just beating the competition.

It also won't apply to the Model 3. So people can stop whining. This is the only government support Tesla get.

The Model S is also profitable. They just reinvest their revenue because they are in high growth. That's why the stock price is high.

China literally invests more into renewable energy that any country on Earth. India says the vast majority of cars will be electric by 2030. Even Africa and South America are decades ahead of the US with renewables (to be fair Africa didn't exactly have any old infrastructure to replace). So the whole argument of "well nobody else is doing anything so we're not gong to either" is just rubbish. In fact in the rest of the world there isn't a debate about climate change.

Even if it was perfected, hydrogen storage is less dense than lithium batteries. So hydrogen cars would have even worse range. nope I wouldn't buy tesla stock. Or any company single company stock. That's a fool's game.

>I get shafted every time they sell a car.
How so?

>Telsa would be out of business if it had to stand on its own feet.
It does stand on it's own feed. What do you mean?

>Musk is ultimate crony capitalist
You say that like the US isn't flooded with industries that get all kinds of tax relief. People who buy teslas get tax credits, and that will end with the model 3. They get nothing else.
>>

operating loss per car of about $4,000

4.9 Billion in subsidies backed by taxpayers

But do they pay for the charging stations, or the road tax that goes into every gallon of gasoline everyone else pays?

Sounds unlikely, they get the $6k tax credit per car sold and that's all. They got a big government loan once, but that's all paid off now.

>But do they pay for the charging stations
yes

>or the road tax that goes into every gallon of gasoline everyone else pays?
Probably not. I guess that's a problem with the tax code.

>So he gets a pass because everybody is corrupt too?
All tax credits are corruption now?

The bee movie is a metaphor for welfare abuse destroying America, the bees represent the 99% and the humans represent the 1%. In the bee movie the bees sue the human race to give them free unlimited honey because it was harvested from bees unfairly. As a result of this the bees no longer have to work and the economy collapses so Barry has to save the world by getting the bees to work again. Jerry Seinfeld who wrote and starred in the bee movie has expressed on multiple occasions his problems with political correctness and his first big project after his sitcom might have had underlying themes that mirror his ideology

That evil motherfucker is a the biggest welfare queen in the world! He became billionaire by getting tax handouts from government.

> Elon Musk's growing empire is fueled by $4.9 billion in government subsidies

>Los Angeles entrepreneur Elon Musk has built a multibillion-dollar fortune running companies that make electric cars, sell solar panels and launch rockets into space.

>And he's built those companies with the help of billions in government subsidies.

Tesla are growing fast right now. The reinvest their revenue. Right now the are spending big on the gigafactory and model 3 production. If they were just selling the model S they'd be making a steady profit. That would be retarded though when they could be using the money to grow. It's why their stock price is high.

SpaceX is doing alright, but solar doesn't have power density worth pursuing outside of rural areas and electric cars don't have the longevity required to be useful to anyone outside of urban areas.
But, solar's great for space and maybe one day someone will make a capacitor that can hold twenty times the power of a lithium battery in the same volume.
>>
>>70148820
>Good stuff
Those cars are butt ugly inside and outside, but I guess that's a question of taste. Those touchscreens inside the cars seems a very stupid idea, I'm not sure how you supposed to use it safely while driving without the tactile feedback. Check out how many buttons are in a Porsche. And those battery fires were very interesting (and predictable). Other manufacturers don't offer it, because it's not safe (they can't afford to loose costumers, Tesla can).

>Why not?
People want range. And quick fueling. Tesla is only suitable for a 2nd or 3rd car.

>Model S produces 50% less Co2 when it's charged 100% from a coal burning power plant compared to ICE cars.
What? The plant produces all the CO2, not the car. Anyway, no one gives a shit, transportation is far from being the biggest CO2 producer, even huge gains are just marginal in the grand scheme of things.

>>
>>70151295
>And those battery fires were very interesting (and predictable)
3 of them? Where the cabin of the car was never even damaged? And they they made the battery even stronger, and there hasn't been any more fires. But even when there was, teslas were about 1000 times less likely to to catch fire than a typical ICE car.

>Other manufacturers don't offer it, because it's not safe
The model S is literally the safest car in the world right now.

>People want range. And quick fueling.
Not everyone. Most people drive less than 215miles a day, and drive cross country rarely, which is doable with the superchargers. Most people don't want to stop at the gas station every week or so. Tesla's don't need to do that.

>The plant produces all the CO2, not the car.
Yes. The plant produces less Co2 per mile it can charge the car for, than an ICE car would produce per mile.
