A lot of things, like the YMCA, are christian organizations and have a strong foothold in the West. It's the same reason why Atheists are erroneously criticized for not donating enough. The answer is that the charity organizations already exist, it's just that they are Christian too.

This, Muslims must do it. It is considered apostasy to not give a certain percentage (I think its minimum 2.5% or something) to charity. Unless you are poor of course, and only charities that help poor people. Charities to help genderqueer or protect the rights of Muslims other charities that are 100% administrative like that doesn't count.
