A number of literally retarded feminist ideals have gotten mainstream support but why hasn't the idea to take a woman's surname taken off? I don't even hear feminists even trying to push this idea around...

>tfw boyfriend said he'd take my name bc it's better than his

The biggest feminist bitches I know all got married, divorced the poor cunt in under 2 years, but kept his name.

I think it's a fuck you to their father.

Only if I marry Tiffany trump
>>

thats cause the bottom faggot
>>
>>70059046
Just because they did doesn't mean that it got mainstream support.
>>
>>70058704
wouldn't that be her mother's husband's name?

making up their own surnames every generation would be the most empowered, illogical move. i think that's what they should go with.
>>
>>70058828
My last name is not attractive but I wouldn't swap it for hers. If it came to that point I would say she can keep her name if she wants, but the kids still get mine. Taking a woman's name just seems bizarre.

I guess its not as bad as hyphenated.
>>
>>70058704
You take my name because you're my property. End of discussion.
>>
>>70059274
and yes, as my id states, i copied dat idea
>>
So cuck
In my Texas public school career it seemed like minorities had hyphenated names half the time, where the mom and the dad merged the names for the children
>Ayize Davonte-Brown

How little can you honor your family go actively work towards its demise
>>

>not using patronyms
>>
>>70059476
I know a guy who used a patronym to name his son in the UK. Got a lot of hassle when he filed the birth certificate.

If your dad was full-on abusive or just a massive piece of shit I could imagine why some people would do it.

Personally, there's no fucking way I'm changing my last name. I have a great family.
>>
>not pushing for mononyms
Fucking plebs
>>
>>70059626
I know it's not an issue here or Iceland anyway. How can you get hassle for it?

Tradition doesn't care how big of a feminist you are.
>>
>>70060021
But it does. A man from the 1950's would puke when he sees what feminists have done to gender roles for example.

But this has hung around. Even the most radical feminists wouldn't touch it. Why?
>>
Possibly grandparents' feelings? Progressive principles are one thing, making nana cry is another. Interesting observation, BTW.
>>
If I ever ask my GF to marry me and she won't take my last name, it's a dealbreaker.

100% serious. Same with potential kids.
>>
>>70060670
Because they'd have to get married to a heterosexual man.
>>
Families "keep" their sons, daughters are given away during the wedding.
>>
I don't think it's something anyone cares about anymore.
>>
This happened in Japan if the bride was from wealth/nobility and the groom was a commoner who 'made it'
>>
>>70058828
Unless your name is Hitler you're talking absolute fucking shit
>>
>>70060670
Because feminists don't have children so it's a mute point.
Their main concern is how to kill their children, not how to name them, which they don't because their kids are dead and disposed of as medical waste.

Policies concerning cat ownership are more relevent to their lives than married names and hypothetical childrens surnames.

My name is on 'The Constitution of The United States of America'.

My girl would love nothing more than to take my name tomorrow if I asked.

If you don't leave enough of an impact on them that they desire it, she thinks you're a weak bitch.
