My last name is not attractive but I wouldn't swap it for hers. If it came to that point I would say she can keep her name if she wants, but the kids still get mine. Taking a woman's name just seems bizarre.

In my Texas public school career it seemed like minorities had hyphenated names half the time, where the mom and the dad merged the names for the children

I know a guy who used a patronym to name his son in the UK. Got a lot of hassle when he filed the birth certificate.
