I think the first Zeitgeist documentary is one of the most important films of the past decade. From religion, to the 9/11 myth, to the Federal Reserve controlling the world, I think the movie's premise is spot on.

I remember my reaction precisely.
At first I thought the film was incredible, and important. Then part way through I realized it was filled with lies, and that the people making it were stringing them together in deliberately misleading ways; not an honest set of conspiracy theories, but a big steaming pile of deliberate, somewhat clever bullshit.
I went to a rave in London where the maker was supposed to appear but he did not. I was planning to call him a lying prankster but ever got the chance.

That's not actually true. All structural considerations are made to keeping it stable. They worry about how to deconstruct a building when they deconstruct a building. Sometimes that means blowing it up a certain way. In the case of skyscrapers in the center of Manhattan, there would probably be preliminary deconstruction done.
The reason why they collapsed the way they did would be worth looking into if it happened in a controlled setting, but the entire WTC complex was destroyed by the collapsing structures, including WTC7.
The fact is they didn't fall at free-fall speed.

*helped push the 'truther' movement for better or worse

The religion stuff was interesting. There are alot of parallels bet. christianity and solar cults, but that's probably just because most religions got mishmashed into this collective.The "MOSES, MISO, MENUU" linguistic stuff is just absurd tho.
The 9/11 stuff is pretty good. They miss some of the best arguments/smoking guns like the 2 Trillion missing from the pentagon, Options activity in AA and UA, building 7 etc. Yet still, they include some really good hard evidence like 1) Molten Metal and 2) Thermate residue. It's not the best 9/11 doc, but it aint bad.
In regards to the Money stuff, that's all basically true, theoretically. In practice there are some tweaks and changes that make some of the things they say a little exaggerative, but in general its true. They go thru modern money mechanics which is a Fed publication and its all ironclad.
The best part of Zeitgeist is the baseline in the background. Whenever they start investigating a new thing, or telling a new story, they initiate this sweet base pulse. It's the reason this doc is fun to watch.
