As for racial profiling by police. It's unfortunate for black people, but at the same time, black people have committed 52% of the homicides in this country since the 1980s despite represnting 13.5% of the population. It shouldn't be any surprise that police would be more wary of that segment of the population. It's not fair to law-abiding black people, but we can only try to counteract profiling through administrative measures. We can't stop the natural human impulse to profile.

When a minority that is, by its very definition a 'minor' part of a country's make-up, commits a disproportionate number of crimes then there is an increased likelihood they will be examined first. This is a community problem and needs to be solved at that level.
