Did communism completely kill creativity in Russia?

The incredible art, music and literature it produced seems to stem mostly from the 19th century.
>>
Not really its just that nothing was passing through iron curtain and after ussr collapsed none bothered to search for good stuff
>>
>>70014230
But there wasn't any good stuff desu.

Tarkovsky made some great films.
>>
>>70014230
Did you simply not bother to chronicle your history and culture during that time? It's like you have this ~70 year long blank space in your timeline, like a mini dark ages during your triumphant era of communism.
>>
>>70014230
Can you give any examples
>>70014509
I'll check it out
>>
>>70014117
The anthem, which most of westerners seem to adore, was based on the SU anthem, both in music and text. That's one example from the top of my head, if anyone asks, I'll think of something else. But generally yeah, most of the good stuff came from 19th/early 20th century.

This

t. took soviet literature class one time. Russia is very good at literature

>>
>>70014117
Agreed
slavs are pretty inferior in art, literature, music, etc.. than germans, for example, and it's thanks yo communism
>>
>>70015232
Not really. For example they only made good films in soviet times. After collapse they only shoot shitfilms. But there are shitton of good soviet films. I don't think somebody bothered to translate them because, well, nobody's intrested in Russian culture.

Space stuff. America really lost the space race as the ruskies did everything besides getting the first man on the moon. It's kind of a pity no one cares about their accomplishments. Fucking Cold War.

Those are pretty vaguevquestions. What, specifically, do you want to know?
>>
>>70022041
No.
Most of Soviet intelligentsia was anti-soviet and supported perestroika

>tl;dr

>SJW revolution
>edgy sheltered kids bombing government officials
>state collapses, communist revolution arrives

>"Let's open the prisons! The rapists and murderers din du nuffin, it was all because of the opressive tsarist regime"

>Repeat this action over and over with general amnesties on occasion of some communist celebration

>edgy kids get murdered by evil released from their own stupidity

>This is how the criminal culture completely poisoned the society. (The butthurt ruposter replying to this should think of how large of a % of his daily expressions originate from prison and how this % compares to other languages.)

In terms of literature, anything that wasn't a shitty cliche propaganda story had to jump through some serious loops to get published.

Just look at the story of how Bulgakov wrote "The Master and Margarita".
>>
>>70022882
Realy? There was a strong anti-communist movement in russian intelligentsia during the Stalin era?

Russia never lacked artistic geniuses during the Soviet era. It depends on whether those artists made it through Soviet censorship, or if us westerners have put time into discovering them.
>>
>>70022052
Tell us, Pierre. What are the two types?

MIKHAIL
BULGAKOV
But this be the wrong thread to mention him actually

I hate communism but come on. . . The Master and Margarita, We, Doctor Zhivago, And Quiet Flows the Don, Shostakovitch's 5th symphony, Ivan the Terrible, Andrei Rublev, Stalker, Solaris, the 1967 War and Peace film, I could keep going.

The Bolshevik revolution was basically just jewish communists trying to genocide and enslave the Slavs.

Thankfully the Slavic will to live is pretty strong and they're still around.

Fantastic film. The intro still gives me chills.

Apollo 13 is also a classic.
>>
Guys you just don't know much about our culture except some Tarkovsky etc. But there is still good music, cinema, literature. But it's not main stream of modern Russian culture.
