I know that the Brits here love to troll Americans with the TV license stuff, which can be hilarious but some of you really think we're being serious.
Simply put, a TV license is only required when view live streamed BBC programs, which is hard to prove in the first place of course but too many people fall into the trap of letting these clowns into their house when you have the right to deny them. They can only get as much information as you personally give to them. It sucks that they exist and try to scare you into their crappy TV package but it is no where near as bad as it is made out on here.
The worse case scenario if you're a dumbfuck and get "caught" is that you will get a fine.
So yes, you can own a TV and watch anything other than BBC shit with no issue.

Well if you have "cable" you can watch hundreds of channels, which is pretty standard in any house now. The BBC is only a handful of channels mate. Personally I don't even watch TV, nor want anything to do with the BBC.
