Why do we call them "Native Americans"?
Why can't we just call them "Americans" and call YOU European Americans, blacks African Americans, asians Asian Americans and Latinos Latin Americans?

Looks up the origin of the word America. Hint: it's a European name.
"American" is a eurocentric social construct.
Because Americans in itself is a noun for inhabitants, citizens of America. Could mean a black, white, Asian or whatever.
Native Americans are again, a noun that lets people identify that they are native to American lands, and are American.
This is why we do call native Europeans as European Americans and so forth.
