Yes, there are some places that simply don't check if you're a citizen or not. You're required to put down a SSN, but the illegals simply buy that somewhere and the employer doesn't check because if they find out for sure that they're illegal they're obligated to fire them, but they don't want to do that so they just look the other way.
But, there are downsides to being illegal, obviously. For starters, you can't fly anywhere. You can't legally drive (although one of my girlfriend's relatives was pulled over 3 times, arrested once, and institutionalized twice and was never deported, lel).
The biggest downside is that you don't get any kind of a tax return, and most of the better-paying factories won't hire illegals, so you're stuck with some of the shittier jobs like the food processing industry, menial production of cheap consumer goods, and stuff like that. The good factories (RV manufacturers, construction equipment, etc) go to people with papers.
Most illegals aren't really as bad as they're demonized to be, and most of them honestly aren't leeches that suck away money from us. It's actually very expensive to be an illegal immigrant. That said, that doesn't excuse their behavior and it doesn't mean they have a right to stay here.
