Here's a based non-stormfag opinion of the movie followed by pol-related Q&A
Movie gives great nods to the OT, sometimes, however, the nods are a bit too obvious. The humor is very liberally spread but, fortunately, only a few duds. Harrison Ford gives a decent performance, much better than he has done in the past decade. You won't see Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Ford here. The main characters are a bit bland. Rey is a completely Mary Sue with below average acting capabilities. Finn is likeable enough, however sometimes you get the feeling he's just a token black guy. His character development is a bit rushed and a few humor scenes have him "acting black". Thankfully, that's the worst of it. Poe doesn't have as much air time, but he seems good enough to fill his role. The villain would be better if he stayed masked. Although I see the reasons why he was demasked, his appearance is laughable. There's a few plot holes but nothing terribly bad. CGI has been toned way down from the prequels, instead opting for a more traditional Star Wars feel. The acting quality overall is nothing special, but it isn't terrible. The music is decent but nothing grand. Overall, I'd rate it a 7/10.

This for me was the worst part of the entire movie. I thought the entire trilogy would be focused on this quest to find Luke but within 5 minutes, there he is standing alone on a rock in the middle of an ocean.
It felt so hollow and forced I cringed.
It's better than the prequels on a technical level; direction, effects, acting, dialogue, etc. It's a shiny, well produced movie.
The actual plot is really shit though, and the pacing feels extremely rushed even though it's 120 minutes.

The movie has some pretty terrible acting overall, I think you're being too kind to the Poe character, at least in writing.
Take the introduction to Kylo scene, While being interrogated Poe interrupts Kylo to mock him about his mask. This was an attempt to make Poe out into a feisty non-conforming wise cracker but the way it was delivered was so akword and out of touch I cringed. Was the audience supposed to laugh at that?
You also didn't mention of Adam Driver failed to make Kylo a convincing "bitch". Kylo was indeed fine with the mask on, but once the mask comes off you're met with this awkward comedic face prone to overacting.
The attempt was to make Driver look like a Vader wannabe, a child with anger issues. This is understandable, but it doesn't work for some reason. Driver is just too shit at acting, mumbles his lines and makes bizarre facial expressions that don't feel like they apply to the character he's trying to portray.
In the end, you see the character as a joke. It doesn't help that the build up to make the audience recognize him as the misguided son of Hon and Leia is almost non-existent due to the terrible exposition scenes between Ford and Fisher.

It's not as heavy handed as they say, but the sequels are probably going to be chock full of social justice quotas and such.
If you listen to interviews with Michael Arndt and others, you get a sense that Kathy Kennedy, who took over as producer, was hellbent on having her very own female Mary Sue character. Arndt describes this concept of a female 'kickass' jedi as having been there from the outset.
Where things get dicey is when you look through the visual dictionary, cut scenes etc. The political commentary becomes much more apparent ie. a young black girl is Leia's most trusted ambassador and she sends her to plead with the new senate who are all corrupt and out of touch pale aliens with long white beards. There's all kinds of shit that was supposed to be shoehorned in, like girl power female hutts, commentary on the 'diversity', a certain old, short alien that comes from a time before the 'republic(ie white man)', and Kylo Ren being a metaphor for white Christians.

Episode 2 was originally the worst of the movies. Episode 1 isn't that bad like you stupid le prequels were awful nutters like to claim. The final fight scene with Maul is one of the best parts of any of the movies. The pod racing was cool. The movie wasn't bad. It was good even.

I rarely watch films twice but I had to watch it again now that the torrent was out. Really fun. Kylo Ren is the best Star Wars villain yet, the black guy is sorta funny, effects are great, new saber styles are awesome. I'm not sold on Rei but she's alright. Also Han Solo and Leia seem a bit out of place at times.
All in all very enjoyable and it makes 180 minutes fly by.
