A mix of time periods, mostly I think what people would like to see would be the working class enjoying a standard of living similar to what they were able to obtain in the 50's and 60's, namely being able to own a house and a car off the wages of a single full time worker.
From a cultural standpoint I suppose Americans would like their public spaces safe and clean again, the American middle class has spent the past 60 years fleeing slowly outward from city centers from liberal degeneracy and "diversity" and there's simply nowhere left to go. Look at downtown areas from the 50's and 60's, look at what parks and shopping malls looked like in the 70's and 80's, hell you can even look at that one video floating around youtube of a bunch of guys in a 7/11 as late as the 90's. There's a sense of peace that is simply gone from public areas even in relatively upscale neighborhoods.
