You can test this for yourself by sending a message to someone while they are offline, then deleting your chatlogs. Qubes and Tails are better than OpenBSD for security. I rarely run into openbsd boxees I can't flip, because so much of the software written for it doesn't get security patched as often as linux distros that are in wider use.
