Alright anons. I am thinking of starting a new image board, let's call it Polchan for now. I wanted to get some input before I start putting the code for it together.
Would anyone here want to switch to a new site?
What would you want from the Polchan?
I was thinking of completely uncensored content, except kiddie porn. Good or bad idea?
Would allow raids.
Probably wouldn't have flags on any boards.
Would be set up similar to 4chan, where the boards are static, no create your own board type stuff.
Data on site would be dumped daily, no saving or selling data.
What do you guys think?

The problem with this board (except the users themselves) is:
- Porn
- Cuckmania
- Meme threads
Flags is not a problem in itself IMO, as discussing cross-country politics can be productive.
What would be good:
A Polchan with several different /pol/-boards.
Like;
/GeoPol/ = World politics/Geopolitics
/LibPol/ = Libertarian
/LeftyPol/ = Leftist/Communist
/NatSocPol/ = National Socialism
/USPol/ = American politics, Trump etc.
/EuroPol/ = European politics
Etc.
The problem with be having enough users though, and mods to ban inter-board raids.

Ok a Few things:
1. First and foremost you need to fund the hosting of the application, so you will need to think of revenue streams, I suspect that this board will be small so banner AD's might be fine, but certainly do some research here.
2. Considering the nature of image boards look into the local laws of where ever you are hosting it, you do not want to fall foul of draconian laws because of what your users say. Find a location with the Maximum amount of freedoms!
3. Mods, expect to get constant CP and Gore raids on the boards, that's because Marxists hate any discussion that isn't their narrative and thus will do anything to have a board shut down. Even if you don't remove it quick enough as long as you are shown to make an effort to remove it ASAP then the Fed's won't shut you down.
4. Server Hardening, DDoS protection, etc. The server hardening do ASAP the DDoS protection can wait until later should the site become popular.
5. Don't promote raids, this makes you liable. Ignore them sure but don't actively promote them.
6. No Porn unless it is in context of the Political Topic (such as Sex Tapes, etc.) use discretion here.
7. Flags are awesome, they recognise my Shitposting cred. But have a complete /Anonpol/ board that does away with them for topics that are Geo-politically sensitive
8. Have a containment board for all the cuck-posting, mememania, etc.
9. Have a containment board for the Manosphere and MGTOW
As long as it's the exactly same speed/layout as this board then sure.
All other chans I've gone to our slow, non-user friendly, clunky and generally inactive.

no, I think splitting /pol/ into multiple boards for cross-country politics is a bad idea. The reason /pol/ works here is because theres only one of it. ALL politics are discussed here. And we learn things by being exposed to stuff we haven't encountered before. The more you split the board, the less likely people are to encounter new, interesting ideas.

OP here. I like the input.
I like the idea of banning lefties and homo shit and all the degenerate shit that we hate here on pol, but do we really want an echo chamber chan? I want free speech to be in full effect, I would gladly censor certain types of porn though(kiddie porn, dick pics, etc..) would probably just keep a porn board and censor all porn on every other board.
I like the containment boards and I think I could really make them effective. I could do something like if there were x amounts of a certain word on a post it gets sent to another board and or a sub board is temporarily created off of the main board it was posted on. So, for this political season, trump or th GOP would have gotten their whole board.
I will definitely ensure that my server can fend off attacks, and I will also have ads to help support the site.
Once again thanks for the input, I'm going to be starting it up tonight. I don't imagine it will be rolled out anytime soon but I will be in periodically to give progress and invite testers in.

What about tags of some kind? Where as the OP would have to tag his thread, and the users could filter out/in tags they are looking for?

What you should do is fingerprint users to identify the site's demographic. Make a sign-in that collects e-mail addresses in exchange for posting without a captcha, then send out periodical e-mails with the best posts and have a bunch of affiliate links for copies of Mein Kampf or whatever other shit will appeal to your demographic. Buy kikebook ads and shit for the areas that your users live in, build up legitimacy in those places, and watch some of them form into groups while paying you for material that just fuels their fervor

If you have "biased views" to the degree you like the idea of banning someone with a different view than yours, there is a problem with you being an admin though.

If you're going to make a new image board please change the layout. Instead use a flow-chart style layout where posts are still ordered chronologically from earliest to latest (top-bottom) but when replying to a post an arrow comes up, PIC RELATED
Option to spoiler every image
Option to tag images/post with "key words" that describe it, make catalog searching easier
Add stock photos to choose from instead of uploading an image, saves server space so you don't have to save 10000000 pepes in the archives
Make flags more detailed, for example, flags for different provinces/states
COntainment boards
Add a voting system based for posts entirely on negativity (no updoots) basically, make saging threads and actual action

I like the tag idea. If you're going to split the boards even a little, I highly recommend making a /b/-style /pol/ general board, where general politics from around the world are discussed. Then there could be boards for memes, etc. If you want regional politics, maybe one board for every continent/hemisphere?

It's easy to set up your own imageboard. It takes like 30 minutes from scratch with vichan.

That being said, it's kind of hard contriving boards besides /pol/ for a chan that's solely political-based. To compensate I propose you introduce boards that go along with the political theme you're shooting for, such as /fit/, /his/, and perhaps some social or dare I say /b/ board.
