Why does America use lethal injection? It's barbaric, proven to be ineffective quite regularly and also expensive.

Wouldn't firing squad, or even hanging like they did to Saddam be better for all sides?

Doesn't lethal injection just give people another reason to cry out against the death penalty?

Firing squad should be the way.
But not blindfolded.
Let them face death like men.
>>
Yes we still use lethal injection. There have even been cases where the sodium pentothial wasn't available due to a supply shortage so the condemned was given just whatever which resulted in a long and painful death.

I agree that it should be firing squad.
>>
lethal dose of morphine instead

IIRC, it's considered 'more humane' than other methods since the condemned is sedated and unconscious when the lethal drugs are injected. At least Utah still has firing squad and a few other states might still have hanging. With firing squad, there have been instances where the shooters wouldn't fire or intentionally missed, and hanging can also fuck up for reasons.
>>
>>69936310
Because liberals in the US sued various states over their use of hangings and the firing squad. Those states changed their methods to lethal injection in order to have a better chance of surviving a legal challenge.
>>
>>69937135
Well in firing squads they usually have 4 or 5 shooters.
>>
US should combine jails and reality tv so people would be able to vote for their favourite way to kill inmates.

>hanging can also fuck up for reasons.
how do you fuck up hanging someone

even if it fails at first just leave it alone for a couple minutes and you're good

It would, but it looks old and if its looks old its barbaric. Lethal injection is all clean so it has to be more humane, right?

If i had to choose i would probably pick hanging.
>>
Bring back the gallows. I've always wanted to witness a good hanging.

Nitrogen or other inert gas asphyxiation would be the best way to carry out capital punishment. There's no need to cause excess suffering.
>>
>>69936310
I never understood why capital punishment is expensive. Like nigger, a bullet is cheap as fuck.
>>
>>69936310
Our people are kinda full of bitch. They dont wanna see blood, they want to feel morally superior.

FUCK THAT. If a judge/jury sentences somebody to death, they should be the ones to do the deed.
>>
>>69938087
Fuck that, bring back the guillotine.

4Chan would abuse the shit out of that, so I say

Capital Punishment is retarded anyway.
>>
>>69936310
It's an Overton-like long term strategy to eliminate the death penalty by making it impractical. Every problem with supply, expense and humanity could be fixed tomorrow by being culturally serious about capital punishment, allowing one (1) appeal within one (1) year, and then shooting or hanging the guy. They make us dance around and permit hundreds of legal procedures, and then they point to their own impositions and complain about the impractical expense.
>>
im sure some men would volunteer to be shooters
just give them anonmity if thay want it.
10 shooters be good and quick
>>
>>69936310
Because for some stupid reason they won't let us use hanging, decapitation, or firing squad anymore. Hell, we can only use the electric chair in a handful of states anymore.

It's the appeals
The same people who complain about how inefficient the death penalty system is are the same people doing everything in their power to make it inefficient

Wood chipper.

>firing squad
Extremely common that the person does not instantly die as accuracy isn't perfect and real life isn't videogames
>hanging
Common for the neck to not break, causing slow asphyxiation

>lethal injection
Can potentially not sedate the person, leaving them to feel themselves die slowly. Theoretically, more controlled and humane with medical experts to administer, but then there are ethical issues for the doctor.
>>
>>69937956
Guillotine is preferable. Very quick, your PNS and CNS severed before you can register "pain".

>>69936310
Depends, some don't have the right drugs in stock, it's three chemicals they use, they run out or order the wrong drugs and yeah it gets botched.

But if done correctly high doses of a tranquiliser are given, then a muscle relaxant and then a drug to stop the heart.

Pretty easy way to go in theory, practise is another thing entirely, American doctors that perform this already break their oath and one of the three P's of medicine.

So they can't be taken seriously.

It isn't the method that is the problem, it is that they get to hang around for 15 years stalling for time with appeals and other legal nonsense that often only delays the inevitable. Once in a blue moon, we find somebody who is wrongly convicted, the rest take too long to die regardless of implement.
>>
>>69940054
It takes 5 billion appeals until you're allowed to execute somebody.

Nobody wants to cut down on the appeals because the use of DNA evidence revealed that even despite the already rediculously expensive appeals process, innocent people were still getting executed, prompting people to make the process of killing somebody take even more appeals and cost more money.
