NYU’s pro-Trump students fear for their safety — and grades.
They may be flooding caucus rooms across the country, but Donald Trump supporters at NYU keep their heads down, mouths shut and their correspondence secret.
Lying in class about their political beliefs and keeping online conversations strictly private are typical precautions taken by The Donald’s badly outnumbered followers on campus.
“Supporters generally try to keep it hidden from the rest of the student body,” said junior Dylan Perera, 22. “They’re afraid of losing friends, being ridiculed in class, getting worse grades and are even afraid of being assaulted and physically hurt.”
The computer-science major from LA said he was verbally accosted by a student who had asked about his affiliation.
“She freaked out and started yelling and screaming in my face, calling me a racist and a fascist. It was impossible to even have a conversation,” he said.
Another student was so concerned about being outed as a Trump supporter that he reserved a private room on campus — for “security reasons” — to speak to a Post reporter. He recalled being ostracized by his “radical social-justice warrior” roommates. “Their hatred towards me started escalating after we had a few political discussions,” he said.

As I've said before, if you want to get a college degree in order to move ahead in life, then study a STEM discipline at a university that ends in the words "Polytechnic Institute" or "Institute of Technology", and preferably one that's cheap. Getting into massive debt for the privilege of paying that money to an unabashedly degenerate left-wing institution is one of the most cucked and undignified decisions a level-headed person can possibly make. That's not to say STEM focused universities aren't left-leaning, but the fanatical fringes that are a cancer to regular universities are largely absent from the former due to the fact that STEM oriented universities are traditionally unappealing to that kind of student.

The issue here isn't being afraid of other students. I'm 6'3 and I hit the gym nearly every day between studying, teaching classes, doing coursework and grading. We PhD students don't have friends or lives. I can successfully demolish any other political/social position in a fair debate and I don't see any sissy limp-wristed liberal on campus being able to physically intimidate me.
The biggest risk isn't students or my peers, its the professors and college administration finding out, because they can damage you and you will have no recourse. That is why I generally keep my Trump support quiet; would prefer it not spreading to the Marxist administrative staff and tenured faculty.

I received a failing grade a couple of years back on an essay I had to write for a mandatory liberal feels 101 class. Wasn't that big of a deal, since I still skated by with an A overall. But basically, we were talking about how doctors should be accepting and view alternative medicine (you know, chinese voodoo bullshit) favorably. I basically wrote a (very well written) essay on how this is bullshit and just leads to people not seeking actual treatment.
Long story short, I got a 63% on it. Not because my opinion differed from the professor's, but because I apparently didn't properly follow the outline she wanted. Even though nobody else did either, and they all got 95%. Pure coincidence, I'm sure.
