Hahaha can't believe people still fall for the STEM meme or the university meme, I dropped out of university after realising what a waste of time it was got a trade and now run my own electrical company. Made £60000 last year (I'm 23)
>>
I am 25. I received a Bachelor's in Information Systems. I make $100K USD/yr without working at a startup or living in Cali/NYC.

Do I bust my ass for it? Yes. But it's possible.

As far as a $15/hr meme wage goes, it will result in massive job cuts and replacement by automation.
>>
If you went to college for 5 years and are 30k in debt to make 15 an hour then youre a dumb piece of shit

>>

"STEM is a meme" is itself a meme.

There's nothing wrong with trades, but your room for growth is small and the type of work you do is mind numbing compared to, for example, a mech e degree.

The STEM meme doesn't involve fucking Biology. Biology is a fucking worthless degree and is for low-tier medical applicants. You fucks are doing it all wrong. Just because something can be argued to be a science, doesn't mean it's actually STEM.

When you entered this major in your freshman year, did you even think about what Biology majors end up doing?

Here's the reason why america is retarded and why everyone thinks education doesn't matter. Sure, there are some jobs that definition require a degree, and a lot of good ones that don't.

The point of and education is TO FUCKING IMPROVE YOURSELF, not to earn more money. College can also teach you how to be a better learner and take responsibility for your own education. No matter what job you're in, you're going to have to learn new things over your lifetime. Hell, even just in life you will. College can give you skills that prepare you personally for the future.

I think before anyone turns thirty, the need some kind of post-secondary education, need to work in the service industry for a few years, and work a manual labor job for a while, all just for improvement and life skills.

Sciences have varying levels success. Technology is doing amazing but the jobs aren't amazing. Engineering is always in demand and have pretty decent jobs. Mathematics is the one STEM field that is actually suffering. I really isn't the degree that will make you successful. It's more time, place, luck, and hard work.

>>69933493

That's excellent. But your work is mindless and the ceiling for advancement pales in comparison to someone with an engineering degree.

Start with Python:

I went psychology and now I get paid a lot of money for rich people to tell me how awful they feel all the time when they're not on coke. I try connecting those dots and just get blank stares, they come back every week so hey.

Today one of them said she's a really charitable person because she didn't fire her now (visibly) pregnant housekeeper. She's still really worried about what her friend will think about her help though. Used those exact words, called her "the help" and everything.

I don't feel compelled to prove my income anonymously to a guy whose income keeps miraculously rising the more he posts. I make about 300k in a good year, 200k in a bad one. I'm also heavily invested.

I bet you drive a nice car. You're young, so maybe a 'Vette, maybe a Porsche, yes?

And you get plenty of pussy, yes? The girls can't resist the guy with the sharp car and the steady income.

Do a little drinking with your work buddies on the weekend? Got the giant TV in the living room for the afternoon games? Have the friends over, order 5 large pizzas and think nothing of it - hell, throw in 50 wings too. And extra blue cheese sauce please.

And I guess you think that's the good life.

Well, it is. But it's the same life everyone else lives. It's the apex of mediocrity.

Nothing wrong with it, really. Except when you start bragging about it. Because seriously, it isn't anything to brag about. I don't know anyone who makes less money than you. 100k/yr is the new 40k/yr.

Maybe someday you'll break away and start making some real money. Then you'll find out that you haven't really been making any choices at all - all your choices were made for you, and you didn't even know it.

Because until you've got a few million dollars in the bank, you're not shit in the USA - just another consumer.

>It's a tad pathetic bud

Is it? I can never tell.

I guess if you're making 100k/yr in someplace like, I dunno, Bodunk, Wisconsin or something - maybe that is well above average.

But it's still mediocre. You're talking on a completely different scale than I am. I'm talking about intelligent white men here - you are one of those, right?

Yet you're content to work "a job." You could lose that job, you know. Could happen anytime - you might fuck up, though I kinda doubt it since it seems you're one to follow the herd. Your company might go belly-up. Someone in HR could take a disliking to you and sabotage your career. You are NOT in control.

I am. No one can fuck my shit up. I decide how much money I make.

Because I am a white American man living in a capitalist society, and I want control of everything.

So you can bother with statistics if you want. You can run the numbers and put yourself on some kind of platform. Maybe you're content to be a worker bee.

But I'm a killer bee, lad.
