The Abortion comments a few days ago. He needs to tone down everything that isn't related to Immigration, its turning moderates away, and it looks like its gonna cost him Wisconsin.

He did not really make any comments.

The entire thing stemmed from a purely hypothetical question.

None of the shit he said matters because the condition would never be met.

This. He had a better chance before he flipped on abortion and faggot marriage, because those are the two "emotional" issues that women vote based off of. Most women have a gay friend and can't think logically about the consequences of gay marriage legalization
>>
>>69892911
Really, one of the best things Trump has done has tried to quietly pull a PR stunt going to church before Iowa, fucking up on camera, and playing it off because he never said he was a super duper deluxe Christian.

But you can't hate him too hard over the wedge issues just because he tried to not fall for the obvious traps while the entire establishment went on full assault just to stump him.

Saying that there needs to be some punishment on women who have abortions

Regardless of validity, the pro-life movement is doing a violent recoil against him due to it. Pro-life youth are actually pretty easy to win over: they're single-issue voters. Win them over by convincing your pro-life and that you care about the women. Thats it.

As someone who's a part of the movement, his comments havent swayed me away from him, but it's become a rally-point for Cruz shills (who tend to only use the movement to advertise themselves to the youth and lobbyists) to use against him.

I know when he was asked about global warming he made comments like "there's weather" and "it'll get cooler, it'll get warmer, it's called weather"... That's a dumber stand than even the idiots saying global warming does not exist.

>>
>>69893670
This. So many people are misunderstanding why this was such a mistake. There's a reason Trump walked back his statement. The pro-life crowd understood the context and saw it as a mischaracterization of their beliefs. That women would be punished for aborting their baby is a leftwing strawman that is constantly thrown into the debate. Pro-lifers have always held that just because abortion is illegal doesn't mean that women would be punished. In fact, when abortion was illegal they weren't prosecuted, the doctor that performed the abortion was. The woman was considered the second victim. Chris Mathews must have had an orgasm when Trump fell for the trap. It made Trump look unfamiliar with the abortion debate.
>>
>>69895368
feminist detected. The baby's body isn't the mothers body.

>>69895443
If a girl is hiring a doctor to assassinate her baby of course she should be punished.

>If a girl is hiring a doctor to assassinate her baby of course she should be punished
That's not a mainstream pro-life view, which is why they took offense to Trump's comment. Again, when abortion was illegal in America, women weren't punished for aborting their baby. That it logically follows that a woman would/should be punished for aborting actually comes from the pro-choice crowd as an argument against making abortion illegal.

>>
>>69892761
I got into an argument about this the other day with a family member. I said I agree with Trumps statement based on the question, although I don't think abortion should be illegal, those who break the law should be punished.

>Omg, you think he should be president? A real leader would know to answer that question.

But he did , based on the parameters...

>It's a pointless question because it will never happen, he should've said that.

You can't just avoid a question because you don't like it. It wasn't even worded poorly, it's pretty cut and dry.

>Trump is literally the worst candidate

Can you give me reasons? An explanation?

>(Ad hominem)

That doesn't convince me of anything. I don't agree with everything the guy says, but I think a sense of nationalism what this country needs in a changing world.

>Fine vote for your Hitler candidate.

How is he like Hitler?

>Hitler was a nationalist.

If Trump is like Hitler because he is a nationalist then Bernie is like Hitler because he is a socialist.

>None of this even matters because Hillary is going to win. She's the establishment candidate.

So what's the of this conversation?

>There is no point.
People can have their opinions and vote for whoever they like. But at least be able to back up your statements, public speaking is a requirement in American high schools and college and yet no one can argue effectively.

Dear leader speaks from his heart, thus he has said nothing wrong.

To go back and clarify or even change past statements shows a learned mind capable of critical thinking, honest self reflection, and, most importantly, honesty and earnestness.

Moderate here. I am pro-choice I don't think he COULD overturn roe v wade if he wanted to and I don't think he's a social issues conservative.

That said, he's more likely to win the female vote if he says he supports states rights to decide abortion laws.

The biggest mistake was not organizing state committees once he won New Hampshire.

The only reason this idiotic thing is still going is because Cruz cheated his way through caucus states. This shaved off enough delegates to 'make it "close"'. Moreover, delegates are being appointed to Trump who categorically oppose him.

Everything else is just noise.

Basing anything off of the 2014 midterms is going to be a problem come a general election. Letting you know that right now

Sure but Abbott is completely against almost all abortion and literally wants to overturn roe v wade. Even that couldn't win the women vote here. Lots of women are pro life.

There were barey any young voters in the 2014 elections. That changes in a general.

Of course 45-65 and up women voters don't give a fuck about reproductive rights
