I'm a 21 year old English student at the University of York. Should I vote for the UK to stay in or leave the EU? I'm honestly having trouble deciding
>>
>>69878605

Vote leave.

You don't even need to know why, just trust us that its the better option.

The list of reasons is massive, so pick a category like societal or economic to delve into.

Also an anecdote, it's a sad reflection of democracy that people like you are allowed to vote.
>>
>>69878605
Depends if you're normie or right wing
>>
Leave, of course. Don't let that cultural marxist institution drag you down with them, your Commonwealth brothers are here with you.
>>
>>69878605
vote self-destruction.
>>
>>69878605

I am at York too. If you want, I can meet you later on this week to give you a hundred reasons why you ought to vote leave if you like?
>>
>>69878605
Do you think English people have the right to exist?

Then vote leave.
>>
>>69878670
What, educated adults being allowed to vote is a bad thing now?
>>
>>69878605
Leave!

Seriously, do you want to live in a democracy or not? 75% of our laws are made behind closed doors in Brussels.

A little history for you. The Athenians back in the day set up the Delian lEague with other Aegean islands to work together to fight of the Persians. The other islands gave money to Athens for it to increase it's war fleet to keep the Aegean safe.

Guess what?

The Aegean fleet grew so big so when peace with the Persians had been made, Athens would attack islands that stopped paying tribute.

The EU is literally the same thing with their desire to make a European police force and coast guard.
>>
>>69878605

Vote stay! You will lose the financial taxation provided by companies who have their headquarters in London. You don't even know how lucky you got by entering the EU.

That is all the reason you need, I will also give you 5 blowjobs.
>>
>>69878859
The geese are fucking horrendous aren't they
>>
>>69878605
Vote for them to stay to bring on the inevitable European disaster ever quicker. The faster the EU gets destroyed, the more likely an Enlightening will come.
>>
>>69878605
Leave the EU. When you do we might reconsider the USA being your masters. Might.
>>
>>69878928

>educated adults being allowed to vote is a bad thing now?

And yet you don't understand politics enough to know that voting to leave is the best option for Britain by a large margin and an undisputed margin.

The problem comes from the fact that there's millions of people like you and then we end up in clusterfucked situations.

If you were educated you wouldn't need our help.

We didn't really enter the EU as such we entered the EEC and then everything went to shit during 1992/93 when the EEC became the EU via Maastricht Treaty and the Euro single currency came about etc etc.

Also people didn't get the option to not remain in the EU, it was decided for us, which is nice

And here we are today

Look at it this way: there's only two ways the EU can end. The status quo is not on the table, the EU has been aiming for integration since the 1950s and if we vote to Remain, we are implicitly approving this political project.

1) Federalisation into a single, European state. Given the EU as it stands, this federation will probably be largely undemocratic, economically stagnant, and have no real unifying social similarities other than an out of touch Globalist elite. I don't think this is desirable for Britain.

2) Disintegration into constituent nations. Depending on the degree of integration, this will be economically damaging and result in years, even decades, of global financial turmoil.

The longer we stay in, the higher the risk of one of those scenarios happening is. Both will hurt far more than any temporary pain that comes from a Brexit now.

Then you wouldn't need to ask a fucking image board in Japan about what to do in the coming referendum.

The battle of the Brexit is largely ideological. Your economy will be fine, but the implications it has on the eurosceptic movement and the union as a whole far overshadow just England alone.

There is much more at stake here than you think. Don't be so angry.

Read these quotes by EU Juncker:

If after that you still think the EU is a democratic institution with your best interest in mind, you should kill yourself.

The whole money question is to lure you, elites have understood that the best way to scare people is the fear of recession.

It's irrelevant when you compare to the biggest threat of losing democracy and self-determination.

Look what Europe brought us since 1993 and Maastricht:
- massive illegal immigration
- incapacity to answer to crisis (either financial, military or migratory) because we are fucking paralyzed by Bruxelles
- no right to decide our economic politics (all sacrified on the altar of free market)

I have been raise as a pro-european, with a family crossed between Benelux, Deutschland and France and I identify as a european which means I'm a product of a 2000 years share from cultures and nations. the idea of "to end war between european" people was noble but it has been perverted by an oligarchy.

The Union is a fucking joke whose only goal is to replace our nation and legacy by some "diversity" agenda while deconstructing our glorious history and dilute democracy.

Nice argument you retard.

Besides, our central bank actually sticks to their rules and doesn't secretly finance the government, unlike Draghi, who breaks the rules, justifies it when rules are broken, and can act free of consequences because of nice "democratic" elements like having bought the alliances of the socialist countries while those affected like Germany are unfortunately taking their democractic turnus break and can't vote this year, just too bad!

If you have any concerns or problems with the EU and how it operates, at all, it's a reason to vote leave. The EU will *not* (and demonstrably does not) reform despite what the politicians and media say, every law is a step on the road to ever closer union, Junker outright said there can be no DEMOCRATIC alternative to European law, opt-outs and renegotiation change nothing or very little at best.

It's not all about money, all in all we'll probably be a bit worse off economically for the years following a brexit. But on the other hand those scaremongerers that claim it would put millions of Brits out of work are lying. Long term we have more to gain than to lose, indep
>>
>>69878928
>What, educated adults being allowed to vote is a bad thing now?

You're not that well educated if you have to ask whether to leave or not.

If you want to vote morally then you have to vote out, currently most of the governance of the UK is out of our hands. The EU isn't even democratic.

The EU is basically just socialism on a global scale, all the countries buy into the EU and then we redistribute that wealth to the poor countries like greece or whoever we let in next, and again we have no control over that.

Just watch any debate with Farage on the EU, he always makes a great case for leaving.

Eastern Europe want to milk as much as possible from the West.
But if they wait too long they will be infiltrated by the same oligarchy we have now, and it is very dangerous.

Why ?

Because they will say: "Look ! Look around you ! How much EU was beneficial for us ! How our economy flourish" and the pleb will buy this shit, 20 years later there will be the sudden urge "to have diversity".
Eastern people are just the cuck of tomorow, I don't think they will learn the lesson before it is too late.
>>
>>69884323
Scotland's problem is that they're not nationalistic enough. Or rather, the "nationalism" they have is defined by hatred for the English rather than love for their own country. It's telling that the Yes campaign specifically wanted to cosy up to the EU afterwards. They never cared about being independent, they only cared about thumbing their noses at Whitehall (which I can understand, but not at the cost of your own future)
Other than that petty bitter malice towards us, Scottish nationalism is dead. They keep voting for far-left parties to run us further into the ground, and they're too shielded from the consequences to realise their mistake. If Scotland left, we'd be free of a major source of cultural enrichment.
>>
>>69884973
I kind of agree, but Scottish people very definitely love their country, but a lot of the nationalistic feeling does come from uncompromising dislike of the English for no reason other than "muh david cameron" at the moment. The SNP is not representative of the average Scotsman/woman's personal view, but the average Scotsman/woman doesn't do any fucking research at all. Other Scots tend to have an irritating amount of party loyalty, as if its a good thing.

i.e the SNP gave us free education a few years back, so they must always be good. It's not necessarily a subscription to leftist idealogies, but to the SNP's idealogies regardless of what they are.

When parties are taken out of the equation, and the politics is about something that resonates with Scots, there's a tendency towards the sensible option. We saw this in the referendum.

Please tell me you're getting paid for acting like this..

My entire point was that the EU fakes legitimacy by giving the EP power over pointless things like lightbulbs while the real decisions are made by people that are not democratically elected. So acting like the EU is democratic just because there are democratic elements at a point where they don't matter is just building up a strawman. It doesn't change that the EU in whole is not democratic and that you have undemocratic influence over your life if you choose to be part of the EU.

The very point the people who want to leave the EU are making. Why are you acting like a retard?

And your other point is wrong too. The national rules were there first and were given to the ECB, not the other way round. The ECB tried to abolish them as much as possible with secret treaties that allow secret government funding by national banks.

Jesus Christ..

Basically everything that the parliament votes on is decided by the unelected commission. At least know what you're talking about before posting shit.

Vote leave if you want the UK to be a part of the world. The only buisnessess that want to remain in the EU are those that have subsadies from the EU, which we can do anyway with the membership fee, or foreign interests that want to use us for their own ends. Do not trust organizations like the Bloomberg group to tell you if it's a good or bad idea: they have a vested interested to remain, and therefore no interests in what is good for Britain.

He's right tho, that is the future of humanity. The problem is right now they are doing a fucking shitty job of it and it's only being pushed in EU and NA and failing. He claims it's important we stick to our ideals, yet they import Allah Akbars and let them practice their barbarism that goes against all western ideals and against their own idea of diversity.

"only right wing people want to leave"

do not fall into the neatly made trap New Labour has made--those who truly want to represent the working class want to leave

*vice president of the european commission

OP, instead of getting your sources from /pol/, read as much as possible into the socioeconomic impacts of brexit from as many different places as you can. /pol/ and the typical tabloids are way too sentimental and often get basic factual shit wrong, as well as making unbiased claims such as 'we'll be great again once we leave' as if though boris johnson is going to go wrestle brussels to give us trade deals . I am pro brexit but I'm extremely wary of the negotiations since I don't trust anyone in the Tory or UKIP circles to be able to give us a decent deal. I think that rather than becoming Victoria's Empire 2.0 we'll end up back in the EEC and Free Movement will still apply since we'll bow down to retain freedom to provide services (which has so far proven to be extremely non-negotiable with Brussels).
