The concept of three worlds is to differentiate countries in the cold war. The ones aligned with capitalist usa are first world, the ones aligned with the communist Soviet union are second world, the non aligned countries are third world

If my knowledge is correct, from when the term was coined, a 1st world country is a western capitalist country, a 2nd world country is an eastern Communist country, and 3rd worlders are just irrelevant bumfucks.

during the cold war the world was divided into capitalism and communism
basically they were called 2 worlds, the capitalist one (being usa and its european allies) versus the communist one (being russian and its allies) they were just called 2 worlds, but there was never mentioned which was first and which was second, none that it matters anyway, communism failed and died and only retards follow it today
us, in those days, really didnt have shit to do with european wars and conflict, we were comfy in our caribean and tropical islands sipping rum drinks and sleeping, so when these "2 worlds" shit started we just went "who the fuck cares, white people problems" and continued sleeping, thats why we are called third world, we remained neutral, indecisive or applied mixed models in our governments like capitalist law with socialist government fucking stuff over. but we never supported either 100%, it was more like 50-50, 20-80 or in the worse cases, like 10-90
