no i live in the midwest, where i believe we have livable wages compared to the cost of living. it could be way easier to live in a big hip city than i'm making it out to be. my 1 bedroom is $580 a month in a fairly bad area, i make $11 an hour. from what i've seen you're looking at at least twice the rent for similarly bad areas around these cities. i suppose it helps if you don't need a car but then again, a lot of these cheaper apartments seem to be on the outskirts of the city or in a suburb. any anons who have lived in both types of situations making shit wages who could shed light on this?
