I helped a friend write a paper for collage and my experience with "credible" sources is that historians look to any contact between europeans and any other race to explain away the problems of said race, wanna explain the Rwandan genocide in 1995 look to what happened when europeans arrived hundreds and hundreds of years earlier. So yes the paper we wrote blamed the Rwandan genocide on white people even though the Rwandans had been self governed for 40+ years and whites did not play any role in the killings.
If you attend university you will be brainwashed into believing that all peoples on this planet would live in peace and harmony if europeans never existed.
