The last book I tried to read was Notes from the Underground by Doestoyevsky, and the first few pages described my condition so accurately I was too paralyzed to continue.
Nothing else has been interesting enough for me to care about enough that'd hold my attention.
I've liked this guy in the past but this is wrong.
The technology of the internet is actually what kept me connected to people, if anything. It doesn't mention anything about the sexual objectification of boys. The fact that literally every male alive from my generation is aware of the use of the terms "Alpha/Beta", and that most agree with that it's an accurate model says everything about how males are treated in real life.
I got into porn, too, because I wasn't going to spend my life pursuing second-rate girls who by the time I was 16 were already sleeping with 20-something year old guys and who were never interested in me unless I made literally all the effort and supplied constant male energy for them.
I've also had significantly more meaningful relationships online. You can relate to someone in a far more significant way through text, and in an environment where you aren't censored and monitored constantly.

I'm pretty familiar with Zombardo's criticisms of neet culture and his larger scheme. Basically he thinks that men aren't happy unless they follow in the footsteps of men from previous generations. But he's got it completely backwards. For the first time in human history, men are being selfish. Men are rejecting the notion of working yourself to death to support a woman and children. Men are turning to video games and porn because they WANT TO, not because it's their only option. Women have become so rotten and selfish that for many men, the only winning move is to not play.
Many establishment types are terrified of men "going their own way" (I actually hate this phrase). Men are the tax base, the shit-workers, and the soldiers. If the number of men checking out of the system grows, society is fucked. But I don't think Zombardo's one of these people. I think he's just a man who was born too late to realize that he had options beyond becoming a good little man slave.

Can confirm. I've had several women who just flat out rejected me in my 20's or mocked me for daring to ask them out try to connect with me on facebook.
