Libertarianism only really works when we are living in near ideal conditions for it.
Those conditions aren't currently met, and currently tagging along libertarian policies are open borders which will actually weak those conditions.
Trump is possibly an over correction. But we need to change course and change course quick, and he is by far America's best chance of achieving that course correction and influencing the rest of the world to do the same.

Right around when SJWs, #BlackLivesMatter and the refugee crisis escalated. I realized that Libertarianism is a coward's ideology. Being a "hands off" libertarian at this point in history is like being that awkward kid on the playground who busts in and announces new rules he just made up for the games the kids play. These new rules are ostensibly as fair and "free market" as it gets for everyone, but the other kids just snicker and play him for the fool, exploiting the new kid's own rules to their advantage and his handicap.
Fix the system with a big stick first before thinking about what freedoms you can have later. Reality doesn't work any other way, it is probably exactly the same for every alien civilization out there.

To get to neutral you need an equal and opposite reaction. The Western political mainstream has moved so far left that only fascism will be able to bring it back towards the center. Decades of moderate opposition has done nothing and only resulted in a continuous move leftward.
