/pol/ used to have /ChristianGenerals/ fairly often, but I never got around to asking back when those were commonplace.

What's the best Church to go to for a closeted fedora in middle America, seeking to convert? I'd prefer a denomination that's typically active with youth groups, etc. Essentially I want to actually meet people and be part of a community, rather than just go to mass on Sundays alone.
>>
>>69747136
The Amish community.
>>
Unitarian Universalist. They have a pretty chill "there are many paths to God" mentality. Though many other denominations would argue that they're not legit Christians.
>>
Mormons
>>
>>69747136
By middle America, which state range do you mean?
>>
Just go to any protestant or even a mormon church. Rest is absolutely heretic-tier and any /pol/ack that says otherwise is literally a shitskin.
>>
The Amish or Franciscans
>>
>>69747136
Baptists around my state always had "youth groups" that would be made up of only teens and/or young adults. They'd go to Chick-Fil-A or coffee shops and talk about god/bible/philosophy amongst themselves
>>
>>69747311

Would you mind giving a rundown of the theological arguments for or against them being legit Christians? I'm not super well-versed in this subject.

>>69747329
I have considered it just because every Mormon I've run into I've really liked; however, I did want to stick with traditional Christianity. Plus, I would feel bad joining a Mormon Church only to realize it doesn't click,.
>>
>>69747136
I was raised methodist, and that's fine so long as they aren't using guitars or something retarded; that would be a huge red flag.

It really varies. Just because a church is apart of a specific denomination doesn't really say much about whether they will be degenerate or not.

Try a few Baptist Churches in your area.
>>
>>69747491

Which state do you live in, Anon?

>>69747435

Colorado. I know it's not technically "Midwest," but I'd put it closer there, than to the Western states themselves.
>>
Orthodox or Mormon if you can get around their insane beliefs.
>>
>>69747136
Most evangelical churches are pretty good. Baptists aren't bad, or Missouri Synod Lutheran. Unitarians don't really believe anything.
>>
>>69747596
Moreover, when you actually do go, talk to the pastor after the service about being interested/looking to convert.

You have two options.

Catholicism or Orthodoxy.

Research the claims, the theology, which feels more like true Church. Either way you end up, you are closer to the Truth than any protestant denomination.

Texas, but we have a lot of baptists in my neck of the woods, so I'm not so sure if it's as super common in other states.

Wouldn't doubt that there are youth groups abundant as long as there are a sizable amount of baptists.

I've generally heard positive things about Orthodox, but haven't seen many churches in my area. Like I mentioned above, I've known plenty of Mormons and liked them all, but I'm not too happy about the idea of lying about my faith just to join a community.

From the wikipedia article:
>Unitarian Universalism[2][3][4] is a liberal religion characterized by a "free and responsible search for truth and meaning".[5][6] Unitarian Universalists do not share a creed but are unified by their shared search for spiritual growth. As such, the Unitarian Universalist Church (UU) includes many agnostics, theists, and atheists among its membership. The roots of UU are in liberal Christianity, specifically Unitarianism and Universalism. Unitarian Universalists state that from these traditions comes a deep regard for intellectual freedom and inclusive love, so that congregations and members seek inspiration and derive insight from all major world religions.[7]

It really seems like an interfaith religion, with Christian traditions. Although there may be Christian Unitarian Universalists, they do not claim to be all Christians.

If you want to be around ultra Christian conservatives, try a Baptist or Pentecostal church.

If you're looking for culture, I'd recommend a Roman Catholic or Orthodox church.

The entire Bible revolves around genealogy. To think race isn't important is extremely ignorant. Couple this with how white people are the most successful people on Earth, and the jews determination to exterminate us. You are deceived.

Try Seventh Day Adventist, a lot of ministry work there and youth groups. I find the music lacking though, its all typical 1800s hymnals, cant stand it really.

>Considered doing that, kind of afraid of sperging out though, tbqh.
Trust me, man, those missionaries will be glad to get invited over. It's better than knocking on doors and expecting to get greeted with a shotgun. Plus, in a lot of places, most of their time is spent studying the scriptures. They'll be more than happy to sit down with you for a few hours and get some time doing other shit.

If your desire is just a youth group then you might have to try several churches. It's a total crap shoot which church has active youth groups or not. If theology doesn't bother you Mormons usually have a decent one. If you like being active in the community and not just sit around in church all day Methodists get pretty active or you could join Knights of Columbus through the Catholic Church. It all depends on your state and town and what you're comfortable trying really.
>>
>>69750680

Just read E. Michael Jones' (a Catholic) The Jewish Revolutionary Spirit: And Its Impact on World History. This is what the Catholic church traditionally taught about the Jews, but it doesn't OBSESS about the Jews. I've been to nearly every major denomination in Christianity and haven't got to try SDA yet. I did go to three different Eastern Orthodox churches though and loved them. I think I must have avoided that one. I spent more time talking with the priest than anything. I did slip out the back door of a Mormon church one day because I didn't feel like staying a 4th hour to listen to missionaries since I already spent 3 hours going through their service and two classes.

I have an uncle who is a priest. He's always wanted me to be a priest. I think im just too critical to really believe in god, but i like the positive influence of the church. I hate that casinos are going up and churches are going down where i live.

No idea about US. Pic is my church. It's in northern England
My denomination is High Church Anglican.

>High Church Anglicanism tends to be closer than Low Church to Roman Catholic and Greek Orthodox Christian teachings.

How liberal is high church Anglican? I went to the Episcopal Church but it was a little too liberal for my tastes then I went to one that wasn't in the Anglican Communion and they seemed more conservative and had elements I recognized from Catholicism and Orthodoxy which I liked. Not sure how it is in Bongistan.

RC all the way. Protestants don't even recieve communion even though Jesus told to do it in memory of him. They don't believe in confession as well even though Jesus authorized his apostles to forgive sin.

Faith and repentance are the path to salvation so a priest isn't necessary, though speaking to one would be helpful.

Faith, repentance, baptism, growth. It's kind of hard to do those without a decent church. Aside from which the Bible calls for us to go to church and stresses the importance of church. If you want a good start, pick a concordance and an interlinear.
