Why do Americans shop at Wal Mart?
>>
>>69744274
The store itself and the products they sell are actually not bad. The biggest problem with Walmart is the people who shop there.
>>
>>69744274
It's like the poundland of America
>>

>>
>Americans
Theyre all over Canada too. At least Target failed hard
>>
Cheap shit and you can get everything you want there.
>>
>>69744274
>Why do Americans shop at a store that has 95% of things they would ever need in one location for very competitive prices?

Is this a question? I can get a gun, whiskey, Bible, and a cheeseburger at the same place inside an hour.
>>
>>69744745
>whiskey

wait what? American walmarts sell booze? Ours only sell non alcoholic beer
>>
>>69744470

ALOT of the products are crap. Manufactures were forced to send manufacturing to the lowest bidder in order to get products onto Walmart shelves. TV's are an excellent example, the cheap ones may be stamped with a good brand name. But look closer, and you realize they were built by some shitty manufacture. Guns too, the Mossberg 500 is a decent shotgun. However the ones at wallyworld have so many crap parts on them. Plastic/ alloy trigger packs, plastic mag followers, etc.
>>
>>69744274

Some super lightweight whisky and moonshine
>>
>>69744274

It muscled out nearly all the other local businesses so most people don't have a choice.
>>
I don't because there aren't any close by.

Publix and Target are much closer.
>>
>>69744274

Walmart used to be shit. Cheap merchandise at awful prices.

They flipped a switch at some point in the last decade or so. Decent stuff for decent prices.
>>
>>69744274

Because when traveling through small towns, there are few other stores at which to shop. I prefer Target, Walgreens, or just about any other store, but sometimes choices are thin.
>>
>>69744274
>business owners mad they get btfo every time a walmart moves in
kek
>>
>>69744840
Aren't all Mossberg 500 Shotguns made the same way? Wal-Mart doesn't make stuff, they only stock what they buy.
>>
>>69744944

Walmart was best in the early 90s before the supercenter age. I didn't notice nearly as many unkempt hicks and lardasses there back then either.
>>
>>69744274
It has everything.
>>
>>69744274
I don't. I only go into one once or twice a year when I need something strange after normal store hours. Where else am I going to get a dowel rod at 3AM?
>>
>>69744827
Depends on the state. Washington state does.
>>
>>69744274
Because it killed every other store in the small town.
>>
Open 24 hours a day, can get whatever I want whenever I want too
>>
>>69745222
Ohio does
>>
>>69744827
Mine does. Consider getting stars in your flag.

Walmart works because you can buy a can of Campbell's soup at walmaty for anywhere to a dollar to a few cents less than other stores.

In my town, a box of macaroni and cheese $1.50 at the local store. Walmart sells it for $0.90
>>

I don't. If I go anywhere it's WinCo, since they're customer service isn't absolute shite, Employee owned company, and their prices are better for the most part. Also you can get like 30 lbs of lentils for like 5 bucks.

Me and my family don't. Local walmart employed a former marine in loss prevention. A crim he had in the back room pulled a weapon on him. They struggled for a period of time at which point the marine shot him. They fired him. My dad has not been back since.
>>
>>69745169
Sometimes times Walmart gets a company to make their merchandise made cheaper just for Walmart
Sometimes like a vacume or toy
We don't usually know but it not completely absurd to believe they could be made cheaper
>>
>>69744840
> However the ones at wallyworld have so many crap parts on them. Plastic/ alloy trigger packs, plastic mag followers, etc.

That's a Maverick 88.
>>
>>69744274
I think I've visited a walmart about 5 times the past year. It's usually one thing I need that is cheap there. Shoe polish kit, usb-to-wall charger adapter. Usually I buy the shit on ebay, but sometimes I need it know or it's cheaper there. Don't like the place.

I seriously bought a machete, a pair of boots, a DVD of the super Mario show, a set of clothes for my toddler, some candles and $300 worth of groceries on one visit.

You can possibly save money at other stores, but it's a little leg work looking for coupons and specials.
>>
>>69745350

Boring. We already know they want to start a war. I'd rather discuss fatasses at Walmart.
>>
I can't go there any more. Too many fucking towelheads. And never enough people check out. You have to use self checkout which is complete bullshit and takes jobs away.

I go to Target. Colored people are deathly afraid of paying ten cents more for food.

Jesus Christ I just realized 2000 years from now that walmart and McDonalds will be the remains of the Glorious American Empire, along with .mp4 and .mkv files of people bitching about the patriarchy and far right extremist that write on walls in chalk "MAGA" and "Operation black sands did nothing wrong"

It'll be like looking at a roman bathhouse and marveling at the innate need to bring that bubble of comfort everywhere.
>>
Why do I shop at Wal-Mart? Because all the so called mom, and pop stores where I live are shit. Wal-Mart has cleaner stores, better prices, more helpful staff, and better selection.

that mom and pop store has no real competition

they're small enough to not give a shit about wal mart, as long as they get enough business to pay themselves / their few workers.

If another mom and pop store popped up near them, they'd probably go out of business, but that chances of that happening are unlikely because of muh socialism welfare state.
>>
>>69746920
That was my neighborhood grocery store, before it went out of business because all the trailer ghettoes in this town are too broke to sustain an Albertsons.

Back before the manufacturing all closed in this town, I used to go there to cash my paychecks and buy handles of stoli.

I don't get why everyone seems to claim that that Month-Day-Year is backwards

It's natural to see it as "The date was August 10th 2004"
>>
>>69749661
Because the argument is that it makes more sense to sequence the numbers in terms of the size of what they measure. A day is shorter than a month, and a month is shorter than a year. So you go day-month-year.

Americans write the date the exact same way that it's spoken, which is a charming bit of retardation.
>>
>>69749661
ISO standard is year-month-day, Eurabian standard is the other way around. US standard is the obligatory fuck-you to both.
>>
>>69745169
A lot of walproducts are made for them with cheaper componants so they can lower the price.

Tvs are a good example. You can buy the same model at best buy for a little more but when you look at the wiring/boards used you see the difference.

To answer op, the farmers market is only open like 4 mos a year here and there is literally no where else to buy produce within 100mi in every direction.

There is nothing wrong with Walmart
They can pay their employees what they want
They can get their products from sweatshops, in fact sweatshops are better than working in the field for less, being a prostitute, or being a soldier all for less money.
They don't have to have a union.

Yes the shoppers are not very pleasing, but poor people often aren't.

They have most things, they price match to an extant, and Wranglers are the best brand of jeans I've ever worn.

Get your good shit online.

Get everything else from Walmart.

Manufacturers make their own sub-standards like that. It's true that wal-mart sells downgraded goods, but it's not true that they're the only ones. Target sells you the same downgrade and pockets the difference.

If you're looking to spend a month's worth of skilled pay on a TV, then of course don't go to a bigbox store. This is a non-argument; it's like saying the people who got $500 full-package PCs from a brick-store should have bought a $2000 gayman PC from Best Buy instead. If somebody works a shit job and has only gets an hour a week of play time, then they're probably taking their money to wal-mart.

Nobody is saying it's the company our civilization wants. It's the company our civilization deserves.

Most are 24hrs, virtually anything you need you'll find in one place, which is obviously convenient. Better purchasing security because of return policy, relatively cheaper than niche stores...

Do you really even have to ask? It's the same thing with IKEA. And both department stores by the way are popular in China, so it's not just us who shop at Wal Mart.

Personally, I shop at Target though. Los Angeles made it so that only grand fathered in Walmarts have a presence, ergo Target is much more common here.

Nah. I think of the Walmart experience as kind of like a festival. Sometimes I mess up and wind up there when the EBT crowd are there. Lines are a mile long so I just enjoy the floor show and do my shopping another time. Also, their house brands are outstanding quality and it's the only place I know where I can get Vintage seltzer in the one liter bottle.

It's gonna sound dumb but food at Walmart is worse than food bought elsewhere. If you don't believe me pick up a bag of Doritos from Walmart and then the same bag size and flavor from a grocery store and the Walmart ones will taste like crap.
>>
Random shit:

There's one thing in particular I would go to a "mom&pop" shop for: PCs. I don't have anything against buying cheap prebuilt ones then un-shitting them, but if I want quality parts then I'd get it from a reputable small business. All the benefit of doing it myself, but I pay some small service charge for the luxury of having someone else deal with the shit if non-functioning parts arrive. Building it yourself is fun until you get identical broken motherboards in the mail one after another.

The industry norm for US food shoppe is to tell people when they'll be working shortly before they start working. This follows some fairly predictable patterns like holidays; but it's usually up to the employee to figure those patterns out. Basically, it's incompatible with being a single mother.

>guess who they hire

Their Savings Catcher is pretty good. I got coupons for free 12-packs and would end up getting $2 back.

People complain about the garden center and shitty roses and trees. The "body bag roses" are a big complaint, but you have to buy the ones that actually have something growing. Have four of them grow over a few years and just planted another two which are going pretty well so far. I usually wait when roses and trees are discounted, really only worth it then as they rarely or don't water them that often.

Nice try.

Look up what first degree price discrimination is my man. You're essentially paying more for the same shit. Do you buy store brand salt or morton salt?

I shop at Target even though stuff is more expensive there because less niggers.

Savings Catcher prices matches ads from other big stores, even some the "must buy 4 for price"

>Vons has BBQ sauce for $0.88
>Walmart has the same for $1.50
>buy at Walmart and two days later be $0.62 in gift card

That's if you want to go to Walmart and don't want to buy increments of four or five

Bought some Doritos for $3 and they're supposed to be on sale for $1.50 at another store

I don't

I do all my shopping at HEB and only go to Walmart if I need to

I stopped shopping there once they stopped selling the Confederate flag.

Only buy from Amazon when I get gift cards.

It's the principle.

It's the only place in town that's open at 2-3am, when I'm usually done with work. Best time to go since there's hardly any people there.

Only drawback is that sometimes they haven't restocked the produce yet. Lot of times I make soup with green onion and ground pork and that stuff goes fast.
>>
My parents shop there just so they can resell the shit at their business.

Funny how niggers would burn through their food stamps paying double at my parents store than to drive out to Walmart which is like 15 minutes away.

>Open late
>cheap prices
>big variety of inventory
>Some of them have a mcdonalds or a auntie anne's
Why wouldn't we shop there?
>>

bullets, fresh produce, open 24 hours, what more do you want
>>
>>69753966
>fresh produce
The few times I went there all the produce was either canned, frozen, or in pre packaged plastic bags.

I know I do. It's actually pretty great being a hick. Trucks, guns, nature, traditional gender roles, snowmobiles, atvs, dirtbikes. You can dress however you want, you can act however you want, and nobody will give you shit as long you are one of them. What's not to love? Smart, successful hicks are better than their city-slicker counterpart. Even dumb hicks are better than dumb city people. People from the suburbs are the worst though, they're the biggest cucks out of anyone.
