I swear to God they were probably smuggled in by Tim Hortons truck, and as soon as their 500 hours of training wages are over they will be shipped off and a new batch brought in. As a Canadian, this type of thing concerns me greatly.
I'm all for foreigners who want to live a good life here, integrate with our society, and become part of our community. But this doesn't happen. I have yet to get to know or meet any of these foreigners outside of their work. I'd like to know, where did they come from, how did they end up here, how do they live and what's their plan.

I was born in '70, I remember most of the 70's, and all of the 80's. And honestly, people haven't changed. I meet friendly people all the time. I think that the key is probably that I leave my house, and also I am not closed off to the world around me. I don't use headphones ect in public spaces.
Also, poor people have always been shitty. There have always been shady places where you will meet people with many kinds of sicknesses. In some cities that I remember and have returned to, those areas have grown, in some cities, they have shrunk (for example, East Hastings in Vancouver might as well be a yuppie neighborhood now compared to how it was in the 80's).

This probably described my life from 20-24 or so, but I ended up graduating and I'm thriving on my own now. Still prone to depression but I've gotten good at coping with it. It does suck looking in the mirror, realizing I'm almost 30, and wishing I had those wasted years back.
