Highly subsidized fattening foods, meat, dairy and corn being pumped out.
A massive campaign of advertising these foods to the public.
Increased work hours leading to less time for home cooked, generally healthier, prepared meals
Greater distances travelled to work.
Increasingly sedentary type jobs. A change from a manufacturing base to a service orientated economy.
