Is it a good idea to reveal your power level?

I'm the sole non-lefty in my neighborhood and I find myself surrounded by them pretty frequently and I've even attended anti-trump parties (yes, they exist and it's as gay as you imagine). Through my own personal experience these are the pros and cons I've encountered.

PROS:
>feeling of freedom
>small but possible chance of changing someones mind
>sheer adrenaline rush of being in a situation like pic related
>some people will admire your courage even if they don't agree

CONS:
>complete mood killer
>you will get into poor arguments that will only make them more angry when you tear them up
>you first impression to people now is tied to your political views
>if you argue and win you're hated, if you argue and lose you're a psychopathic dumbass

if you reveal your power level you make yourself a target

you need to be the gray man

Never reveal it.

Only Canadians will get this picture.

>rape victim parade
>a guy is carrying a mattress
Sulkowicz didn't invent anything original, did she.
>another is carrying a bottle
Okay, this needs some context.

The need to be honest is a weakness, people use it only to gain power over you.

Revealing your power level will make most people hate you, but will make a small group of people admire you and form their personality around yours. If you would rather have a small group of friends with a great sense of humor rather than be popular among social media-addicted stacies and chads, then go for it.

Is that the Gomeshi guy or whatever? Canada's version of an NPR host.

I hate to say it, but don't reveal everything at once.

The way I approach it is a slow burn. Say, for example, you and your friends are talking about politics, and three out of four of them say they are going to vote for Sanders. Don't begin arguing with them about why he's wrong or an asshole. Say something nice about him to start.

"I actually think Sanders is pretty honest," is a benign thing to say.

Then follow it up by mentioning that you disagree with him on some things.

"But I'm not sure that he's right about the minimum wage," for example.

If you get attacked, just say that you don't want to argue, and change the subject. If they ask you why you think that way, explain why a $15/Hour minimum wage can be extremely detrimental rather than the economic boom people think it is. Maybe follow it up with explaining why increasing the payroll tax by 6% is a mistake. Maybe even show them how much more in taxes they'll have to pay to cover the gibs Bernie is offering, and show them how they won't actually benefit from it.

The trick is to be more reasonable than not, and to act like you think that their viewpoints are valid. Convince them, don't attack them. If they attack, don't respond; just say, "Hey, I disagree with you, that doesn't make me a bad person."

If you want to just flaunt your beliefs, then by all means do so. If your goal is to sway people to your way of thinking, then do it slowly, gradually, and back it up with facts, not feelings.

No not really, you don't know how they'll react to your opinion, I wouldn't risk it
>>
>>69696596
I don't get why people hide their power level. Stand strong like a fucking man, back up your opinions with facts, the liberals greatest weakness, and fucking slay faggots everyday. I got my new Mexican buddy to vote for trump just because I tell people how shitty all the other candidates are. Education people, open up people's eyes spread the truth. MAGA

hey....thanks for the shill-tip

This guy knows. I was a former sanders fan so it's easy for me to compare trump an sanders. They really are the only 2 people who care, wanna fix wallstreet, the TPP, and end all these proxy wars. It's easy to sway people when u show how alike trump and sanders are and how trump is actually better in most areas. But I repeat never hide your power level, know facts, and never back down to people calling you names that mean fucking nothing

this attitude is good for getting one supporter but you're also going to alienate people who are worth having as friends even if they have stupid political ideas. not everyone is worth converting
>>
>>69699704

that's funny because I use the same "trump is a more effective sanders" argument as an insult because I don't like either of their socialist bullshit
>>
>>69699704
Yeah; if someone calls you a bigot/homophobe/whatever, you can't stand there and explain all of the reasons why you AREN'T a racist. That accepts the premise of their statement. You need to tell them "No, you're a cunt for calling me a racist." Then turn it around on them, and ask "What, you think that black people can't do this on their own? You think that they need help from white people to get out of poverty? You think that it's our responsibility to do that?"

Or just disengage. It's not worth arguing with some people. Some of them you can convince, and others are lost causes.

You got me thinking. I got a large base of friends (former cool kid here) and really Noone knows anything about politics or cares. I'm sure it would be a lot more difficult to have these conversations if I grew up in commiefornia or something but the east coast is pretty on board with reason and facts so it's not too bad. But anyways best trick to not alienate yourself like you said is to remain calm. All liberals do is argue with muh feelings and crazy novena and yelling, so if you take that away from them people will end up seeing a guy with a grin on his face conversing with a raving lunatic who can't keep their shit together.

Lolol you may be right but it does work

Huh?

The contrast is usually important, yeah. One guy red-faced, screaming like a maniac, launching racially-charged comments at a smiling, calmly explaining man is a good image for your side of things. If it goes on long enough, the support for the other side might actually switch sides.

Revealing your power level is a meme that has lost its meaning because it has been used incorrectly for years by normies and the overwhelming flood of Reddit refugees.

It has never meant living in fear and silence because you can never speak the truth. It's about not ever going 100%.

If you know anything about the man chosen to represent the power level meme, you'd understand better.

Power is about subtlety and growth. Combat is about bettering yourself, not simply obliterating your enemies with an overwhelming show of strength.

Goku was arguably one of the strongest beings in the DBZ universe, but he was endlessly humble about his strength. He NEVER used his full power, even in battles to the death. He only ever used just a fraction more strength than his opponent, taking heavy blows he did not need to take because victory came not in simply winning the fight by any means, but by the discipline of the combat itself.

Even when fighting gods, even when losing, he'd regularly joke about only giving it 80%, holding something back. Goku was not just fighting an opponent... he was helping THEM grow as well.

The enemies he fought, though defeated, eventually came to even respect Goku for it.

That is what "not revealing your power level" is about. You never start a fight in SSJ3 when a simple Kaioken will do. Coming out and immediately bashing an opponent over the head with undeniable statistics about the Jewish media, or black crime, is overwhelming strength. They will simply slink away wounded and shamed and learn nothing, seeking out weaker opponents instead of bettering themselves.

You must fight back against the liberal whenever possible, but your strength must be proportional. You must make them think, to challenge the Jewish lies they were raised on, slowly... gently.

The truth, like combat, must be taught through experience. Never reveal your true power, but always fight.

The word you're looking for, for those type of people, is "associate". They may say that they are friends with you, but the reality is very different. Anyone who would stop associating with you because of an opinion on politics is probably not worth interacting with.
