I'm not going to post our channel here, but we have a discord channel that's sort of /pol/ based and it's been relatively successful.
You have a lot of control since invite links are generated and expire after a set amount of time, so if we post an invite link in a thread we can revoke it if need be.

Agree. The one thing Discord does not have is screen share and video chat, but you can just screenshot and copy and paste so it's not even that big of a deal. Video chat will probably roll out for discord at some point, too.
