One of the first points made in Ride the Tiger is not to look towards the East (China/Japan/etc) as some sort of hope or last bastion against Western degeneracy. He makes the point that in a very short period of time, for example, China went from Imperial Empire to Communist hellhole. Any semblance of 'tradition' in Asia, he more or less says, is nothing more than an echo of the best; and won't last very long anyway, as those nations become more Westernized.
He also makes the point that there is no "going back", so to speak; you cannot recreate the past, only imitate it. The same is true of past traditions.
His point is to maintain the principles/morals/etc that were responsible for past tradition; and essentially make use of them, when the 'tiger' finally runs out of steam and is slain by your hands, to create your own traditions. True traditions, heirs to those of the past.

That's not quite the point of riding the tiger though: the point is still to fight it, simply in a different way.
Realize history is cyclical, that bad times eventually loop back to greater ones, and that fighting the age of degeneracy only slows down the coming of another grand age, so you just let it pass and deal with it internally until better time comes, making it worse even to accelerate its fall.
Arguably, that's also what jews want: the end of the world heralds the coming of their messiah that will lead the chosen people back to Israel and give them the world on a platter, so the worse the situation, the better for them. I'm not sure he was writing the book for modern-day/metaphorical 'Prodigal Sons', however. By all means, kudos for realizing the error of your ways; but the impression I've had is that he is addressing those for whom the modern world has always felt foreign, and those who feel like strangers/foreigners/outsiders in it.
He was also using 'aristocrat' in the metaphorical sense. Don't be afraid, you'll probably get a lot from reading it.
