I am sorry, but that was not really inevitable. You have to realize how shit Russia was before he came to power. Yuge part of the population was living in mud huts, and though our analogue of slavery was already abolished for like a 60 years at that moment, most of people maintained their lifestyle. Of course, the famine was a result of mismanadgement - Stalin could have predicted exceptionally harsh weather conditions and slow down the collectivisation and other related reforms, but he couldn't see the future and though they can do it within a very short period of time (which they did, but at big costs).
What I really, really dislike /pol/ for is it's ignorance when it comes to the history of my country. No, I don't want everyone to give fucks about some nowadays irrelevant frozen shithole on the edge of the world, but when you speak tough, care to provide real arguments for your statements. It seems like /pol/ position on SU is based on memes and the fact that it fight with Nazi Germany (though automatically making itself evil, like, you know, good guys can never fight each other and they can never be tricked into a rival). If people here did research when talking about Stalin, they would know that Stalin's Russia was the most anti-semetic state right after the Reich, for example.
