Most gynecologists used to be men. But in the past 2 decades or so, there was a massive push for more women in medicine, and they pushed them all into becoming gynecologists. So now there's the opposite "problem" and there are very few men in the field.
So now actually, if you're a man in med school, you're practically guaranteed a residency and a job wherever you want if you're going for gynecology.
