I have zero idea about American healthcare system, can some americlap explain it to me?
Here in Germany you just pay a large chunk of your paycheck in tax (around 1/3 in most cases) on top of 19% tax on everything else (except food)
The part that gets deducted from your paycheck funds everything: insurance of all kind, medical, unemployment, whatever
so even if you are shitty McDonalds minimum wage worker with 1000€/month you STILL get free hospital, STILL get paid when you are sick for a week... fuck you can even ask the government to pay your rent if you can't do it on your own
Explain to me WHAT THE FUCK is going wrong if a low-mid wage guy gets fired and kicked out of his house if he can't work for a week?
I'm just a humble Bong and I completely see your need to have guns. I fucking wish we had that here. I'm on the fence about universal health care because it's being discussed over here now that the NHS, in the long run, is not sustainable and parts of it will have to be privatised.
But things like maternity pay...it's really bad in America or not very generous should I say. That just seems like one more incentive for someone to not have kids to me.
