If Mussolini never invaded Ethiopia he wouldn't have exposed the League of Nations as being useless and wouldn't have pissed off the US/England/etc. since he was a popular figure beforehand. Probably means he wouldn't have had to side with Hitler which leads to fascism staying around as a mainstream ideology.

People are better at governing others than at governing themselves. It's easier to tell a fat guy to eat healthy and do exercise than to follow this advice. Humans are gifted with reason, making us able to understand what we should all do, but also loaded with natural flaws, instincts and inclinations, which make us deviate from our ideal behaviour.
That's why even if we make the assumption that everyone has good will and shares the same morality, it is better for the people as a collective to set common rules than for everyone to do as he pleases. If people don't all have good will or share the same morality, then it is even more crucial to debate them and enforce it on those who lack good will.
Fascist states introduce a sense of purpose, a love of one's heritage, people, culture, promotion of discipline, fitness, literacy and childbirth. Free market states introduce gluttony, hedonism, conspicuous consumption, media saturation, manipulation by advertising, resource depletion for trivial items, obesity, reduced birth rates and healthcare that seeks to make money off of patients in any way possible rather than just heal them.
Both Fascist Italy and Imperial Japan were far better than what we have now. With the current system, the fall of the family, the disintegration of social order and the ultimate collapse of the homeland is inevitable.
