Any other candidate would go into damage control mode obviously and justifiably fire the guy and apologize to the reporter. First, Looked up the law in FL and a simple misdemeanor battery only requires that he "Actually and intentionally touches or strikes another person against the will of the other"
No injury is needed (though that is met with bruises) so he will lose under the purposefully broad law.
HOWEVER, Corey will win under the affirmative Defense of CONSENT. Here's why: although she did not give express consent, the law provides for implied consent, that is, given the situation the "victim" had consented to being touched.
I think Corey has a strong chance of winning this defense because all reporters have implicitly consented to being touched if they are going to confront a candidate and interfere with their movement. Corey was simply trying to clear a path for Trump to exit the building, and for security reasons any person that interferes has consented to being grabbed and removed out of the way.
