Weed makes it okay to be bored. That's hugely problematic since it eliminates your incentive to improve your life. I smoked it daily for years and essentially hit the pause button on my life. Nothing meaningful was accomplished. None of my issues were addressed. I just spun my tires for years.
Maybe it's just who I am, and maybe others can be productive and high, I dunno. I've noticed a similar pattern with a lot of people I know.
OP is right. Weed is physically benign so no one really cares. No one is losing their brother to marijuana overdoses. But lots of people lose their potential in life by smoking it away like I did.
I can honestly say that the best decision I've made in the past 10 years was quitting weed altogether. Maybe it works for you, but it didn't for me. I'd strongly encourage anyone who uses it daily to take a week or two off just to see what life is like without it. You might have a lot more potential than you think you do.

It's not so much that I replaced it with anything, it was just beneficial to remove it from my life. I eat healthier, I exercise more, I think clearer and I spend less money.
