Where were you when Tesla changed the world single-handedly and Made America Great Again?

>35k
>>

Haha wow 2018?

35K? LMAO this thing is garbage.

Buy a fucking focus or something for 20K less, its a better car and you can drive a million miles and still not make up the cost in gas.
>>
>>69637266
Even the poor ass illegal who lives near my parents house can afford a 40k truck.

If by "afford" you mean barely make the minimum lease payments while saving zero money. That's poorfag logic for you.

Yea you mean with 7% interest sold by a loan shark with a 7 year loan.

Might as well call it a mortgage.

makes 8.5k cars a quarter, valued at half that of BMW, which makes 100k a quarter JUST IN THE USA!!

kek, so much fucking hype from retards

dangerous batteries

low range

long recharge

takes from power grid, still has to be generated

RETARDED

Been getting my credit score up just so i can legitimately purchase it.

For someone like me who doesn't need to Haul shit or drive long distance its the perfect commuter car.

if you're making less than 50k a year and you're not a student, you're a worthless drain to society.

Literally everyone driving on the freeway I take all the time is driving at least entry-level luxury or new cars.

16 million cars sold every year in the US is huge with the average price being $32,000. And they just revolutionized that market.
>>
>>69638407
>entry level luxury

what a 20k altima?
>>
>>69637266
>HAHAH BUT YOU CAN BUY A SHITTIER CAR FOR CHEAPER LOL LUXURY CARS BTFO LEL

first of all this is competing with the BMW 3 series and audi A4 so its priced competitively

secondly you are underestimating how much cheaper the operating cost is, after 5 years you will be thousands of dollars ahead

I don't understand the Elon hate on /pol/, are you goys just trying to be as edgy and contrarian as possible? You do realize this is the most successful car start up in about 100 years

Model 3 is different. Being mass-produced to well over 200k a quarter.

>dangerous batteries
when will this meme end? Not a single injury caused by battery ever.

>low range
When do you drive more than 215 miles a day? If for traveling, use supercharger to charge to full in 20 min. Theyre everywhere.

20 mins supercharge. Or Leave it charging overnight and itll be full.

Tesla is literally Apple for cars.
There was a few dozen cucks lined up yesterday in front of my local dealer, to make a 1000$ deposit for the new Teslas that will be released in more than a year.

I repeat. People made a 1000$ deposit for a car that has an unknown exact price, and unknown specifications (obviously no reviews. and no long-term reviews. For all we know these cars might end up as total garbage.

If you have internet in the US, you likely have a supercharger near by. If not, leave it charging overnight while you sleep. Youre not going to drive more than 215 miles a day.

>costs a shit ton to wire your house

ya that is a restriction, superchargers exponentially saturate your battery charge so after 15-20 minutes you would be at ~80% charge

Most cheapo cars get 30mpg, and with gas under $2/gallon, that's about $1000/year for 15,000miles/year.

>20 minutes supercharging, and its free.

Only if you're at their charging stations. It takes hours at your house, unless you spend thousands to rig your house with the supercharging device.

this car is perfect for the city desu, who the fuck is going to drive more than 200 miles in one day in a city anyways. the way i see it, even suburbanites would benefit greatly from this car, the only people i see complaining about its 200 mile range are people that live in pissant one horse towns that have to fill their tanks twice a day to get groceries in their penis compensating trucks

p.s. have fun paying 5 dollars a gallon soon when the oil glut and iranian oil surplus runs dry, i'll be laughing at you at the station while i fill up my 2013 hondur civic econobox

The "superchargers" fucking suck. You have drive 10+mi there and back to get to one likely, and spend 20min waiting for it to charge. That's 40min right there. It takes the average person less than 5 to fill up their car, because gas stations are everywhere.

lol nope.

I drive 46 miles round trip to work every single day and fill up my car with $25 once a week.

That's $100 per month = $1200 a year.

Why would anyone WANT to drive? Self driving cars have been safer than manually driven cars for over 2 years, and the technology is still getting better. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Government_incentives_for_plug-in_electric_vehicles#United_States
>In his 2011 State of the Union address, President Barack Obama set the goal for the U.S. to become the first country to have 1 million electric vehicles on the road by 2015.[162][163] For this purpose, his administration pledged US$2.4 billion in federal grants to support the development of next-generation electric vehicles and batteries
>The tax credit for new plug-in electric vehicles is worth $2,500 plus $417 for each kilowatt-hour of battery capacity over 4 kwh, and the portion of the credit determined by battery capacity cannot exceed $5,000. Therefore, the maximum amount of the credit allowed for a new PEV is $7,500.[165]
> All Tesla Motors cars are eligible for a tax credit.
>The 2009 ARRA provided a tax credit for plug-in electric drive conversion kits. The credit is equal to 10% of the cost of converting a vehicle to a qualified plug-in electric vehicle and in service after February 17, 2009. The maximum amount of the credit is $4,000.
>There was (through 2010) a federal tax credit equal to 50% of the cost to buy and install a home-based charging station with a maximum credit of US$2,000 for each station. Businesses qualified for tax credits up to $50,000 for larger installations
>Rebates of up to $5,000 per light-duty vehicle are available for individuals and business owners who purchase or lease new eligible vehicles. Certain zero-emission commercial vehicles are also eligible for rebates up to $20,000.

I still find it hard to believe it's possible that literally ONE TRILLION DOLLARS of our tax dollars was spent on absolutely nothing in that stimulus bill. I saw one road work sign where I live that said it was paid for by stimulus money.

That road would have been paved or whatever with or without stimulus money.

Insurance will take the battery cost into account in terms of depreciation. You won't get much back if you crash your car right before the battery life is up.

L2 charge kits cost about $500. You're only going to be spending thousands if you go L3 with onsite battery-to-battery.

Well, yeah. I mean cars had been around for awhile before Ford managed to set up the systems (not just the famed production line manufacturing, but also sales systems, repair shops, fuel distribution etc) that could provide a 7 thousand dollar car.

But I feel like it's something worth aiming for.

I guess like internet/computers/phones.

A diesel runs perfectly on biofuel.
It makes way more sense than electric. You literally have to change nothing to the car and it's cheaper than normal diesel.

Electric cars are for fags, I'm all for the environment but cars are the one thing that needs to be ran by fuel to be for men

What you're leaving out is that you have to run a 240V circuit for the charger, which requires hiring an electrician and, depending on your setup, might require upgrading your circuit box if you don't have a free circuit

Something about the cost of production outweighing the sales.

you can do it with most vegetable oil
The only reason it doesn't get done is because of the oil lobby. The taxation on biofuel is ridiculous.

lolwut? It's identical to a washer/dryer plug. My house has 4 of them, two hooked up to the washer/dryer, one hooked to the water heater and one for my EVSE.

And most electric companies will install these for free btw.
>>
>>69646929
Insurance does not cover standard maintenance. A battery needing to be replaced after 10 years is considered standard maintenance. Same as a transmission needing to be replaced after 100k miles. Do you even own a car?

This is not new technology. It is a scam. I would debate Elon Musk and rape his fucking brain. I am self-taught expert on electromotive and power transmission.
