What happened was, our parliament approved a motion to condemn the Dannish law that allows refugee property to be seized at Denmark's borders.
We did not pass a law like theirs, we condemned theirs - because it's the "thing" to do, I guess, among the civilized, limp-wristed leftist nations of the west.
The dannish, naturally, don't like other people giving them flak, and in the case of Portugal one of their elected officials decided to engage in some righteous banter. Glass houses and all that.
Which, in turn, is also a fallacy of sorts. Portugal has already prepared housing, education and employment for a few thousand refugees. The problem is, refugees do not want to come to Portugal. Like, we're willing AND ready to take them in, but the little cockroaches don't smell the money on us the way they smell it on northern european nations.
All the same, I agree with both the Dannish and the refugees. Portugal should keep its mouth shut and, yes, Portugal is a horrible place to migrate to - stay out, thank you!
