I know you like to be edgelords and say nuke the entire Middle East, but we all know that's not happening anytime soon. How do we solve Islam without mass genocide?

Easy, isolationism. This problem is our fault, we artificially inflated the power and growth of nations still stuck in the dark ages. Oil is the main culprit, without it, they would be a quaint backwards culture you would study in school. Instead, we (the west) became economically dependent, making what happens in the middle east serious business and turning them into a powerhouse. Can we fix it? Technically, yes, free ourselves from intervention and dependence, let them cull their own numbers, eventually they will either enter a period of reformation, or simply expire. Realistically, I think no. People are prideful and will always double down on bad ideas. We will chase bad money with good money till we are broke.

Islam will have to emancipate. We ourselves did not leave the middle ages by bombing each other into the stone age. We will have to leave them to their own devices and educate and aid where we can. Make bonds with trade and support their efforts to join modern society. If we inspire by example we will achieve more. The Arab spring was the first attempt where youths wanted to get rid of the old stifling ways. It regrettably became a clusterfuck of religious extremism and terror. But if we want to get rid of fanatic Islam we have to support their youth in their westernization.

Close, but 'we' should have no part whatsoever. Anything less would be to rob them of their self-determination, and bolster the radical elements by giving them a subversive boogieman. Wall them off, let them have their sharia law, watch their populations dwindle to levels sustainable by that form for governance. Only then can they truly reform.
