Don't worry about trips, we have IDs.
It's pretty simple. Start by claiming an unclaimed colour and country (and name, if you want). Each time an update is posted, you reply identifying yourself and stating what you want to do (e.g. expand north/south/east/west, invade Iraq, attack red, whatever) and the last digits of your post number indicate how many territories you get.
