Hey /pol/ do SSRI's and Anti-Depress meds actually work, or have any science supporting their use.
Has anyone had any success with them.
>inb4 Jews nice goy etc.
>>
They work for me.

Effexxor. Only side effects are mindbogglingly weird dreams if I miss a dose 2 days in a row.

Tried SSRI - they KILLED my penis. the jimmy was flaccid the entire time I was on those things.
>>
>>69620223
Im on Wellbutrin and they work. Otherwise extremely fit/healthy adult male.
>>
>>69620223
I was on them for ten years. My advice is to take them temporary, just to get you started. Once on your way taper off. Long term use isn't good imo.
>>
>>69620223

They are equally as effective, and sometimes less effective than a placebo.

There is no 'chemical imbalance' to be treated. The serotonin hypothesis was debunked years ago.

The placebo effect is real though. So if you think it will work and you and have money to waste on them, can handle the side effects and are taking low enough doses not to develop addiction, go ahead.
>>
They work for many people.

However, they usually don't work forever, can have bad side effects during and after your regimen, and can take ages to taper off of. Withdrawal cam be horrible.

Serotonin is one of the scarcest neurotransmitter receptors, so it takes a while to both get on and get off the drug.

So, mixed bag. IMHO they should only be a last resort.
>>
>>69620527
Fuck effexor made my dick fucking numb. Got off and just after about a year getting regular hardons.
>>
I took SSRI because I was constantly horny to the point it distracted me too much and my penis was damaged from all the fapping, yes it helped
>>
>>69620223
I take anti depressants and they make things... Better than it would be. They're not miracle workers though.

I have tried Escitalopram (ssri) without any positive effects. A shit ton of negative effects though. I am currently on Welbutrin, which actualy helps out a bit
>>
zoloft works well with depression in low doses and OCD in high doses

abilify is the worst thing in existence

Not entirely accurate.

Rofl, so is it safe to say its a Jewish conspiracy to sterilize the goy?
>>
Doctors prescribed them way too easily.

I remember in high school.

Friend A) Family dead, suicidal, could have been sectioned. Sorted it out through fixing his sleeping habits and exercise.

Friend B) Dumb emotional slut who was 'depressed', on them for years and they seemed to make her abit manic and strange.
>>
They made me suicidal. I was found by police in my car with a hose taped to my car exhaust pipe. I had to spend a week in a psych ward. Ive since stopped taking them and feel fine.
>>
>>69621542
Abilify is not an SSRI. It's basically an anti-psychotic.
>>
>>69620970
So there isn't any actual chemical imbalance ever? I've felt so messed up for years, my biological mom did drugs for a bit while pregnant. I work out at least 3 times a week and am fit. However still struggles with depression and anxiety.
>>
>>69621589
You don't get it, I fapped at least 5 times a day and still didn't have enough

I've tried a bunch over the years. Most recently, I took trazodone, a Serotonin antagonist and reuptake inhibitor (SARI). Nothing has ever made a single bit of difference.

i have pretty severe depression that comes and goes. Last week I could barely bring myself to get out of bed, this week it's not so bad. I can't identify the variables that trigger those severe episodes.
>>
>>69621888
I didn't need that, my mind was constantly on sex, sometimes I could cum hands free just by thinking erotic thoughts

I don't know what was wrong but I'm sure it wasn't normal
>>
>>69622056
Dude wtf is up with that. You need to get yourself a woman that will please your needs

>>

damn hands free, do you know what caused you to be so horny all the time? That shit isn't normal
>>
Lexapro and Wellbutrin made me feel less depressed and suicidal while at the same time draining me of most emotions and leaving me a zombie. Lexapro is also really addictive, and skipping a dose means that you start to feel incredibly weird.

They work and can keep you stable while you go through therapy or make lifestyle changes or whatever, but I don't think people should be on them for the rest of their lives. It's harsh stuff.
>>
>>69622324
Must have been the jew fucking him in the ass.
>>
>>69622324
Some people are born to be degenerates, but you can still fight it
>>
>>69622027
You may have bipolar, anon.

There are many different kinds of "depression" disorders. There is no one single disorder named depression. Different kinds are caused by different factors.

Your best bet is to experiment with tons of drugs, safely, until you find one that works.

Look into memantine. It's legal, and you can order it online without a prescription.

>>69622324
Front line fight against degeneracy /pol/ salutes you anon.

Sounds like mania. I'd go through days where I'd masturbate several times, then go hook up, then masturbate again. My poor dick was so tired.

No, get a hobby and some pussy, you're just fucking bored.
>>
>>69622577
I don't think it's bipolar. I'm not manic depressive. I'm just sometime severely depressed, and other times just sort of normally depressed. If I could be manic at least part of the time, that wouldn't be so bad.
>>
>>69620576
Wellbutrin made me cum prematurely but not orgasm until a few minutes after I came, sometimes so long after that I was in the middle of random tasks.
>>
>>69620970
Nice source.
>>
>>69622963
Atypical depression, perhaps.
>>
>>69622963
There is a thing called bipolar depression that ebbs and flows. There's also something called hypomania where you aren't full blown bipolar but you still get those upticks in mood.

I've got both, it makes for a weird time. What helped me even out is doing LSD and shrooms. I do it about once a year and it's really helped me turn my life around.
>>
>>69621650
>Friend B) Dumb emotional slut who was 'depressed', on them for years and they seemed to make her abit manic and strange.
Sounds like her bipolar medicine didn't work. Need to either: change the dose or change the pharmaceutical.
>>
>>69621650
>>69623308
Or, she didn't take her medicine regularly.
>>
>>69623264
LSD and shrooms both heavily affect the serotonin system. So does MDMA.
>>
>>69623065
That sounds terrible. For me, I just never ejaculated or had an orgasm. I or someone else could be at it for 45 minutes and nothing.
>>
>>69622953
This desu.
>>
They will make you crazy

Most school shooters were off their meds
>>
>>69620223

They don't do shit. Wanna heal your depressed ass? Take LSD on a monthly basis.
>>
>>69621728
it's a pro-psychotic

fucks with dopamine in all the wrong ways
>>
>>69623380
The firs time I did LSD it felt like, afterwards, that all the shit in my head got reordered in the right way. Before that I was definitely heading down the path to suicide and ruin.
>>
>>69623714
It's a dopaminergic partial agonist. This makes it a competitive antagonist.

It lowers dopamine for some, raises it for others. It's a complex drug and can definitely make psychosis work in some cases, but it can also prevent psychosis in many people. The brain is strange.
>>
>>69623729

It pretty much cured my intense anxiety. My heart rate used to randomly bounce to intense levels during day to day, mundane interaction with people and after i started using LSD i never feel anxious about anything, always calm, can smile at people, can make eye-contact easily, make small talk, etc..
>>
>>69624088
>>69623729

where do you guys get your LSD? I hear most LSD these days is just NBOMe
>>
>>69623264
I used to do LSD and shrooms (and all sorts of other drugs) when I was a teenager. I was still depressed then just as now, but at least I was having a good time.

anyway, maybe I'd give LSD or mushrooms another try, if I knew where to get some.
>>
i started paxil three days ago. i feel fucking terrible
>>
>>69624283

I get them sent by mail (it's incredibly easy to smuggle LSD because it's just tiny little paper blotters) i get them in a stealth envelope.

If you want it, search for it on deep web marketplaces, google is your friend.
>>
>>69624640
Do you test your LSD or do you just trust your source?

They work better than a placebo only when you have severe depression. Do not take them if you have mild or moderate depression.
>>
>>69624723

I read reviews about the vendor online. Just keep in mind that LSD blotters have no taste, if there's taste (particularly bitter) then it's not LSD.
>>
>>69624830
Oh right, I've heard that. How much do you pay for your LSD? What's a good price?
>>
The companies that produce them only have to publish a couple of clinical studies that support their claim that they work. They run 10 then publish the two that have the right statistical blips that show that they work and bury the others that show no better effect than placebos. It's Hillsborough and that's why drug companies aren't developing them as much any more since the requirements to get fda approval are more strict now.
>>
>>69620223
1. Depression is bullshit
2. SSRI's don't work (not better than placebo in most studies) and KILL YOUR DICK
3. Antipsychotics cut your lifelenght with 20 years
4. The only psychotropic drugs worth taking (in modest dose) are:
- methylphenidate
- adderall

That's it.
>>
>>69623065
Wellbutrin makes me soft and then suddenly cum prematurely.

Sex consists of wiping my dick across pussy and then cumming and going to sleep.

atleast im not depressed
>>
I used them for a year but was also using 500 mg of oxycodone a day so its hard to tell if they worked or not. Off them now and depressed as fuck.

Major depression here, stemmed from anxiety

Before sertraline/Zoloft, I fapped 4 times a day

50mg was enough to get me back on my feet. I stopped getting horny and fapping (which messed up my reward system, fapping when depressed does that and drains the life out of you and causing a porn addiction). Pretty much no fapped for 2 months and that allowed me to hit the gym without any distractions

On my 6th months of sertraline, I traveled to Europe and made a bunch of friends for the first time in like years (I was lonely and on pol all day before). Got to see the gypsies and refugees in action too. Are croissants daily and made out with so many pretty girls!

When I came back home, I decided to wean off of sertraline. So far life is okay. I fixed up my routine (evening jogs, 10 min meditations) during my ssri days and that carried over to where I am now.

SSRIs are not that end of depression. It's only a tool to fix your routines and solve your causes of your stress levels. Expecting the pill to solve it for you is gonna be a bad time.
>>
>>69620970
This is largely true
If you want to prevent depression and other degradative mental illnesses, then increasing and maintaining a high rate of neurogenesis through simple (and surprisingly effective) actions of longterm dietary discipline (high omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin D, vitamin B, etc) and exercise are the way to go. Don't fall for the pharmaceutical jew. For acute anxiety/etc it's likely that classic psychedelics (MDMA, Psylocibin, sometimes even LSD for serotenergic pathways and THC, CBD which cater to immensely important endocannbinoid system) are more effective if properly used and combined with therapy.

if you can endure this guy, then it has some good information
