Most Irish people have a positive opinion of the USA except for the "muh Palestine" liberals.

Where I grew up, Irish culture was seen as one of the "most" american cultures. The Irish immigrants on the early 1900s were lauded as model citizens and heroes who pulled themselves up by their bootstraps. Lots of my friends as kids were very into their Irish heritage and proud of it. St. Patrick's day was a huge deal that everyone celebrated. Bands like Flogging Molly and others were super popular, even the Celtic-styles-folksy ones.
Beyond this I had a friend back then on IRC who was Irish and lived in Ireland and he was super cool.
So I have a positive view of them. Not sure about other Americans though

I'm from the deep south, family a long long time ago was Irish. Still a decent bit of Irish heritage in the south. For example, Savannah has loads of Irish Pubs and go nuts for st paddys. Pretty neat stuff. So generally well liked down here, since most of us came from there way long ago.

I can't not discuss the North/South issue. Firstly, most Americans do not realize that an independent Ireland exists and therefore never think about the country of Ireland at all except as a travel destination for getting sloshed and feeling superior to backwards Irishman, for which Ireland is viewed rather favorably.
The ones who do vaguely know whats going consider you completely irrelevant (South Ireland) or a puzzling slave-state to UK (North Ireland). It is not explained in our schools or media why a sizable portion of your country is owned by UK, why the UK feels justified in owning a sizeable portion of Ireland, or why Southern Ireland seems okay with it now.
Regardless of how much we understand the North/South bit, the consensus is that Ireland has literally never done anything of historical note other than generate a silly and slightly inferior race of white people that we routinely satirize in every form of media.

Other than "lol gingers" I don't think I've heard a negative thing about the Irish in decades. In the US they are mostly associated with St. Patricks day, Notre Dame, drinking heavily and obviously Irish Pubs.
