I'll use this post as an example. You bought that pizza, then a hoard of people who did not buy that pizza come in and eat it. In the end you have a nice picture of everyone eating pizza, but in all reality you just paid for a full pizza to eat a single slice.
The problem with socialism is that it is universally people without taking from people who have what they want. If the roles were reversed, and people with plenty gave to those without, I would support it 100%. Someone having more than you is not justification for you to take what isn't yours.

More of an issue is that someone has to coordinate the distribution of goods and services within a socialist society. This automatically negates the system as the distributors then have power over other supposed equals.

Not allowing price mechanism to function in every official transaction leads to poor allocation of resources. Most visible ones being unnecessary items getting produced since supply isn't influenced by demand and massive lines, because of price controls, which leads to underpriced products getting overdemanded.
Other one that if you concentrate power to a single organization, be it government in a social state, large corporation in a banana republic or whatever, it increases the likeliness of corruption.
And since socialist states have so far been single party dictatorships the system undermines meritocracy since political parties aren't really known for testing personal aptitude.
Then there is the lack of negative freedom for citizens, but that's more of personal value thing.
There may not be anything wrong with Nordic style socialism, but the main question is if that system is sustainable. It really hasn't been around that long relatively.
The other main question is can you import a system like that into the US without destroying the things that make the US economy great. Our government does NOT have a great record of implementing social programs.
For ex. we spend nearly 1 TRILLION dollars a year on medicare for poor people. That's just a massive amount of money that is being wasted.
The other question is can the US lower the costs of healthcare in the US, because paying at current rates would destroy the flimsy US budget. The government paying the currently insanely high health care costs is absolutely going to be a disaster
