Except it's very well written and it's very entertaining, some nights I literally marathoned 7-8 eps in a row I could not stop watching it.
I never said it takes 20 eps to get good, it's good from the beginning, I said it takes 20 eps to really build up a history and you start to see real change and what is truly good about the series as a long form show. LotGH does things you can't do in a 12-24 ep show, yet it doesn't endlessly repeat itself or have a status qou like other long form shows that go on forever. LotGH is just a really, really, really fucking long movie. It's literally a 10/10 masterpiece. I don't feel elite for liking it, I recommend it to everyone.

Their emotional and intellectual musings evolve as each season progresses culminating in the finale of season 2 where we learn that by a fluke of engineering and concerted effort to understand life and their place in it the tachikomas come closer to being human than any other machine in the story. Their final act of self-sacrifice shows that despite their acceptance of their own existence they were able to act with empathy for organic life. Really the antics of Section 9 were the backdrop to the growth of the "ghost" in the (tachikomas) "machine".

Alliance sends 3 fleets to intercept Reinhard since he just got promoted to High Admiral and Count and needs to prove he's worth the rank, plus the nobles want him dead.
High nobles traded information to Phezzan knowing they will sell it to the Alliance. So that's why the 3 fleets are awaiting him. They organized into 3 because it was previous a successful formation used in a previous huge battle the alliance won. Reinhard basically rushes forward to the smallest fleet first, obliterating it, then stupid fucking Paeta doesn't listen to Yang's suggestion to link up with the remanding fleet as Reinhard destroyed the first one. So Reinhard rekts the second one. Leaving it into a one on one fleet battle. Paeta is injured, Yang takes over command and dodges Reinhards spindel formation charge strategy and shoots from behind, Reinhard reacts by speeding up ahead into a loop to turn around to attack the rear of Yangs fleet, and Yang follows, which leads them into a ring formation which Reinhard has seen Muckenberger fuck up a few years previously, so he knows it's a draw and so does Yang, both sides retreat.

Firstly he wasn't surrounded, he was in danger of becoming surrounded, they were only partially enveloped. One fleet, ahead, one to the left and right. They literally state this in the anime blatantly because the Alliance admirals did not want to close in until they had fully enveloped the Empire's fleet.
And Reinhard did not surround the Alliance fleets at all. He suddenly sprung ahead and attacked the smallest fleet which was ahead of him. He did not destroy it as he said leave the stragglers, then did a quick turn to the right.
When Reinhard went forwards, the Fleets to his left raced toward Reinhard while the right fleet IIRC went behind, though Yang argued his fleet should also go behind and link up with the other fleet, and leave the first one to die. Note these fleets where hours away from each other in distance. Reinhard then went right and back and destroyed the one behind him and came around to the left fleet last.
At no point did he ever surround them, ever. He just just took fleets out 1 by 1.
Anyways, the true fact of the matter is you have outed yourself to be a very, very stupid individual who is incapable of understanding basic tactics, despite being obsessed with them enough to not watch a show. Maybe next time you should fucking pause and have a look at all the fucking tactical maps on display in the background as the characters fucking talk so you don't miss anything you underage little shitter. But the film is the manga and only explores the themes of the manga while trying to make it into "art". Mamoru Oshi is great and he did a great job with the movie, putting a thin veneer of "this is serious art" over the original work just feels cheap. And nudity was just used to bring in audiences and build hype in early promos.
And diss MS all you want, keep in mind there is nothing in that movie, especially thematically, that wasn't in his original work. It was just prettied up and made into "le art" as a codpiece for Oshii.
