Generally speaking, if I catch a pick pocket with his hand actually in my pocket (or equivalent), I will do exactly what I did to a child pick pocket (about 12 or 14 or so) that tried to take my camera in Rome a few years back. I grabbed him by the arm and physically threw him upward, then twisted him in mid-air and slammed him into the ground. Then kicked him in the gut a few times.
Other tourists stopped me from stomping his stealing hand and breaking most of the bones in it, but when he got up he was clearly in a world of hurt, and looked like his shoulder was ripped, maybe dislocated. The sounds of him sobbing while he ran away still give me pleasure. I had to deal with that sort of Gypsy scum for nearly yen years while living in Europe, from Latvia down to France. Fuck them all.
